I am trying to remain calm but I can feel/see a scratch in my Diamond. Please advise best course of action…I am not OK

Do you have any photos?

Look at it carefully, with magnification if possible. Maybe its something stuck on there? Did you actually drop it or hit it against something? Once a stone is damaged there's not much you can do. To be honest, all of us have jewelry with imperfections. Most of it isn't really noticeable unless we know where and what to look for. I know its distressing, but if you have a little scratch it'll bother you for awhile but it will go away. Just remember to store your jewelry in a soft pouch or box. Don't put a bunch of stuff together, keep everything separate if possible. My best advice would be not to wear your best stuff everyday, and definitely not when you are involved in activity where it could get damaged.

P.S. Lovely Aascher cut by the way. My favorite!

I'd first clean it and make sure that's not something stuck on the surface.

Then run your fingernail across it and see if it catches/examine it with a loupe or magnified pictures.

If it's a chip, though, what are you going to do? Taking it out of a bezel setting is going to mean you'd have to have a great deal of the setting rebuilt, so taking it out to recut it, especially with the risks of recutting, seems to not be the best course of action. I would just live with it and try not to do it again.
