I''m meeting with the florist on Friday. While I love flowers, I just feel that they are not my #1 priority when it comes to weddings because our venue is already pretty enough. I''m having a hard time coming to grips with allotting a huge chunk of the budget to flowers. I know you can save money by buying wholesale & arranging yourself, but I just don''t know if I want all that stress the week of the wedding.

I''m just curious, if you don''t mind me asking, what are you budgeting (or what did you spend) for flowers & how much did that get you?

Thanks a bunch!

apprx $4000.

Bridal bouquet for bridal pics and wedding. 9 BM bouquets, 2 MOB/MOG corsages, 3 Grandmother corsages, 14 boutineirs, 12 pew bows with hydrangea, centerpieces for 16 tables (we did hurricane globes with candles on 9 tables) and used 3 of the BM bouquets for some tables in the buffet room. Ivy around all the candles at the front of the church. Main entry centerpiece on sign-in table, and rose petals in other sepcific places.

I think I might be missing something, but that's most of it. HTH

One of my friends spent approx. $800, another friend of mine spent $1,200 and I am budgeting $1,000.

I won''t have any flowers for ceremony decorations. I want a small bouquet - 6 or 8 lily blooms. The girls'' bouquets will be even smaller, so only 4-6 lily blooms. Boys will wear a single rose. Centerpieces won''t have flowers.

I''m with you - flowers just aren''t huge for me, and I despise huge bouquets...!

$500, my dream would be about $1000, but I just can''t have it. My bouquet is what I want with peonies and roses, but the BM bouquets will be gladiolus because they are UBER cheap and large so it takes very few to make a substantial bouquet. All bouts and corsages are going to be glads except the groom''s. Accents include hypericum berries and ferns. Total there will be my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 1 jr BM, FG petals, 7 corsages, 14 bouts. Then we will use the BM bouquets for cake table and head table decorations.

I''m looking at spending less than $500. I''m going to work with flowers that are available at the market when it''s time to get ready. We''re not planning on decorating the tables with flowers. We''re going to be using lanterns or candles instead.

I was originally quoted $4800 by a boutique flower shoppe. This was four nine bm bouquets, crousages, 15 centerpieces, two large arrangements, Flower initials, small bouquets for mothers, god mothers, grandmothers, boutineers for the guys. It was a lot of flowers! I couldnt see spending that much either. I went to downtown LA to a whole in the wall shop, showed them pictures of exactly what I wanted, and they even created a sample for me in an hour. The total came to be $1600 for all the same things. Get creative with your center pieces and shop around if you do not want to spend a lot. It can be done on a budget.

Well, you can spen anywhere from 200$ upto more than 10K! Really depends on what you want. We spent just a bit over 2K on our flowers (pictures posted on my wedding picture thread), but we only had 9 tables and a very small wedding party.

We originally planned for up to $1000, but I did lots of research and went to 5 florists for quotes and ended up getting tulips for only $500. I had my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 2 flower girl bouquets, vases of flowers for either side of the unity candle, flowers on the ends of the pews, and 8 bouts and 4 corsages made with spray roses. They turned out so lovely! Here''s a pic of my bouquet.

My budget was for 3K. I spent $3100. That was for 3 bouquets, 8 corsages, 8 bouts (roses). For the ceremony, I have rose petals for the aisle and floral centerpieces and hanging floral arrangements for the ceremony area. There''s also flowers for the cocktail and reception which consists of centerpieces for the 15 table for cocktail hour (really just floating candles and rose petals) and 15 centerpieces for the 15 reception table (floating gerbera daisies and candles) as well a centerpiece for the place card table and decoration for the cake.

I went over budget on my flowers they cost a around 2K--ISH. But I had a LOT of flowers, but used them with brutal efficiency. Anything that was in the ceremony (except for the petals on the grass) was used again at the reception (so no trellis, no arch) and I worked with an amazing florist. My wedding had around 70 guests. I think we had 9 tables. One attendant each. And I did not use inexpensive flowers, but did use flowers readily available for the season. I did not use any flowers at the cocktail hour. Just used some pretty vase gems (cheap at Michaels) sprinkled on the tables. And our venue had lanterns we used on the tables with them.

If you want to see my flowers: www.floraldesigner.com under Portfolio it's Wedding at Deer Ridge.

Anniee, I LOVE your bouquet! I actually would really love to have tulips for my spring wedding, so that price is a bit of a relief to hear! I guess I''ll see what the florist has to say tomorrow...

Thanks for all your input, ladies!

i''m in the $2k range as well, i have 16 tables and a small bridal party

I ordered from wholeblossoms.com and spent over $2000 for my wedding flowers but it would have cost me over $4000 to have my florist put together my flowers! So I didn''t mind spending so much

i am so envious of everyone''s flower cost! we''re having 30 tables so flower CPs can get expensive. the good thing is that our hall is offering their silk CPs for free so we might use it.

ours was $200. Flowers for the wedding party and cake, they were yellow roses and calla lilies, we just went for simple center pieces from our reception center. We had about 100 guest, and it was still lovely we thought.

I got married in South Florida. We spent $1500 on flower/centerpieces. We didn''t want crazy flowers, but more simple arrangements. We had 12 tables/centerpieces, which were large cylinders with orchids submerged in water with candles all around and on top. My bouquet was orchids and lilies, and some other flowers, 5 bm bouquets, similar to mine, but smaller. 1 groom boutonneire, 4 gm boutonneires, 4 father/grandfather button., 3 mother/grandmother croisages, and flowers to line the aisle.

I thought I got a pretty good deal for the area and the amount of stuff.

i''m getting steal at about $1500.
this is for a WHOLE LOT of flowers.
6 BM bouquets of orchids and mums, plus pomp for FG.
8 bouts of celery roses.
My bouqet.
Bout for FI.
6 wrist coursages for mothers/grandmothers.
20 centerpieces of apples, orchids, and tree branches (we can supply our own apples to make it cheaper).
No flowers as decorations at the ceremony, because we have a very small alter and large bridal party, the priest said save the money because no one will see them at all. Plus our "pews" aren''t really pews, so there is no where to attach flowers. I might have a basket of mums somewhere though...we''ll see.
Oh, and my florist is travelling 120 miles and staying the night.

i was told to keep it under 1000 so we spent 999, haha!
The majority of it was spent on bouquets and also for the end of pews, and some other stuff she suggested that my parents liked, i was zoning out a lot bc flowers arent a huge deal to me, as long as we have bouquets and boutonnieres im happy lol

The florist I''m working with will work with any budget and it''s a small family owned florist so I get the flowers at cost. I don''t plan on going over $500 because I''m not huge on flowers and they only last for a day and I''d prefer to spend the $$ elsewhere. But it''s personal preference and depends on your florist.

We ae spending $1000!!

Includes my bouquet (Sonrisa, Upper Cloud, and Alexis Roses) with a small amount of baby''s breath throughout, 4 BMs bouquets (Sonrisa Roses), 6 buttonholes(Sonrisa Roses) , a throwaway bridal bouquet, two flower arrangements for the ceremony, centrepieces for 6 tables, and bridal table flower arrangements . Rose petals and candles to add a romantic touch =)
