There is about a .4 difference between the two stones. Both are GIA certified with excellent cut, symmetry and polish. I don’t see much difference. They both fall in the G-J range. Thoughts? Can you tell what color they are? Thank you!

Photos like these are not helpful at all in judging color. I'd be guessing out of the blue if I tried. I know that I prefer G H or I over J, though, from seeing diamonds in person. The cut may look slightly better on the bottom one. We could comment more on cut if you'd like to give us the table, depth, crown angle and pavilion angle of both stones. There's a pretty significant size difference with .4.

The bottom one seems brighter but as a non color sensitive person, if I were to see them individually, I would just think white diamond.

Is the bottom one the J? If so, I like it’s cut better.
Something to remember is that colorless diamonds are graded from their body color not their face up. A good cut and a bit of florescence can help mask color, but a J simply won’t be as white as G.
However! If you aren’t color sensitive and the tint doesn’t bother you, J’s can be a good value and considerably cheaper than a comparable G.

Nearly impossible to judge in face up macro pics. Tint is more visible in the profile view and at angles. Which is how the wearer usually sees the ring (assuming it‘s for a ring). Also even lower colors can look pretty white in some lighting but very tinted in others.

The first is a G the second a I. The I is bigger but they both show color in the photos and video. That is where my confusion starts. I am new to this and find it fascinating.

Thank you next time I will post video link. I am new to this forum.

I saw the title and came a-running!

So my initial thoughts were: the first one seems to have some yellow bits but pretty white overall, but the second one is almost leaning towards yellow-brown.

I think a bit of color like with the I could look really pretty with the right setting. I mean, I wouldn't recommend putting it with a cluster halo full of ACA F stones. If you don't notice a difference unless you put the 2 together, then it might be worth going up in size!

From the photos (which admittedly could be misleading) I prefer the second, I thought it was the lower color.

The top one looks clearly whiter, but leaky. But who knows. Very hard to judge based on these pics. Oh wait. Nevermind. I'm color sensitive.

Psst. Is "leaky" the white bits from 11 o'clock to 2 o'clock from the first photo? I have no idea what I'm looking for still

What color shirt the photographer has on has a huge impact on the color you see in those face up pictures.
It will also look different one every monitor.

That could be. I was thinking more the black stuff between the base of each arrow. It could be the angle from which the picture was taken.
