For those of you that wear two ''eternity'' style bands on the outside of your engagement ring, did you size your bands up AND your engagement ring? Or did you size up just the bands? I''m confused as to what I should do...

I want to be able to wear my engagement ring separately from my wedding/anniversary bands, but I don''t want all three to be different sizes.

I was thinking since my engagement ring is a size 7, I could get my bands to be a 7.25 or 7.5. Is that what you guys did?

If you don''t remember what my ring looks like: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/latest-photoshoot.70448/ it''s a 2.3mm shank.

I wear a lot of bands mixed and matched, and I sized up the bands, but not the ering. I wear a 4, and my bands are 4.75-5 for the squish factor. I usually wear 3 bands together. I opted not to size the ering up in case I want to wear it alone. This combo works for me.

Hope that helps!

eta: I sized up more than a half size, because three bands really squeeze the finger.

Gorgeous ring curio!! I have a small collection of bands (much to my husbands chagrin!) and yes, I sized the bands up but not the ering. I went up between .5 and .75 on the bands. My ering is a size 6.5 and when I wear it alone it spins a little. When I stack all 3 rings, the 7.25 band I wear on top almost gets a little snug. I get smushy sausage fingers when I indulge my knack for stacking. I wouldn''t size the ering, just do the bands. Good Luck!

I did the same, although I usually only wear one band with my ER. My ER is a size 7 as well, and since I have very SHORT fingers, stacking made my finger feel.. bloated :) So all my bands are 7.5 which allows me to stack 2 if I choose to, yet it''s not so loose that they fall off if I only wear 1 band.

Thats a great point snooper--if you want to wear a band alone, don''t size it too big. With my pave setting that I had for a short time, I oversized the bands and could not wear them alone as they slid right off my finger. Lesson learned though!

My e-ring is a 5.5, and my w-bands are sz 6's... better for the squish factor when I decide to stack!!! More comfy that way!!!

I would also size up for the band, but not the ering, about 1/4-1/2 size.

Also, I just have to say I adore those photos you took of your spectacular ring! They are some of my favorites on PS!

If I''m remembering correctly, my jeweler made my engagement ring a quarter size smaller than my wedding bands so my E-ring wouldn''t spin. It ended up spinning anyway, so he put a dot of solder between all the bands to tack them together. No more spin!

Woooo :) Great info !!

This is never as easy as it seems! My ER is 4.25, and all my very thin bands (3) are the same. I have 3 slightly wider bands and had those sized to 4.5 - HOWEVER, if I try to wear them alone and not stacked they''re too big. Also, the very thin ones are eternities and therefore cannot be changed - I felt I wanted them the SAME as my ER - the 3 wider ones are 1/2 eternities and therefore if I was wrong or no longer wanted to stack they CAN be sized down. Not to sound confusing, but even though I went for the smaller size on my thin bands, because they''re eternities it''s not a problem if they spin! Also, if it''s a tradeoff, which are you more tolerant of - spinning or squishing - too tight bugs me. Ah, what to do ......

Same here - my ER is a 5.15 (fingers are actually smaller, but I have larger knuckes) and my wedding band was the same size as well. Because I have larger knuckles, I absolutely could not get a larger wedding band. The two rings were loose on my fingers as it is. My DH surprised me with a matching wedding band for Christmas which is also the same size as the other two. All three bands float on my finger and having all three two tight bugs me too. I love the look of having some seperation between the bands.

oohhh... now I''m nervous! I am waiting on my 2 eternity bands right now, they are a size 6. My ering is also a 6, it spins a lot on its own so hopefully the 3 together wont be too tight. When I was at the jewelry shop I tried on eternity bands in a 6.5 but they seemed too big, even when stacked. I hope I chose the right size!!! Well, no going back now I guess! Wish me luck

How do you guys manage this? Hubby doesn't want me wearing anything with my engagement ring but my plain wedding band... I would love to be able to mix it up some day, but.. he is so adamant about it..

I consider all of my bands wedding bands, so the symbolism is there. Maybe you could tell him that the other bands represent the same idea?

I wanted to buy hubby a couple of different bands, and he was horrified! "Why would I ever want to take this one off?" he asked me.

Some men just don't like the idea of "options."

He's okay with my switching, because I explained to him that each band is a wedding band.

I think it depends on how wide the bands are.

My bands are very thin, about 2mm or even less and the e-ring is just as thin, so I had all my rings sized to 5.25, my true size.

I have a rose gold band that is 5 mm wide that I sometimes wear with the two bands and I had to get that in a size 5.75 because it was so uncomfortable in the size 5.25 and even the 5.5.

Can you try all three rings on together or at least try on three rings that are your true size with the same width as all three bands would be? Like three wedding bands that would be the same width, but in your size.

Then you can see how comfortable/uncomfortable it will be.

My e-ring was a 7.75 and I have 2 eternity bands in an 8.25. I just had my e-ring sized up to an 8.25 last week because it was still a little tight, but I never wear my ering alone. I wear my wedding bands alone sometimes, or I wear no rings at all, but when I wear my e-ring, it''s always with other bands so that might make a difference/

I wear two eternity rings with my ring, and they are all the same size. My e-ring was a tiny bit too big when worn alone, but with the two bands around it, they all fit perfectly together! Good luck, and btw, I LOVE your ring!

Thanks so much guys!

This really gives me food for thought... b/c I wasn't really wanting to size my engagement ring up at all.

I just wish mall jewelry stores had different sizes in stock! I went the other day and all they had were size 7s. I put one on my finger, and THANK HEAVENS it didn't get completely stuck! I was so close to panicking.

I had recently gotten some plastic ring sizers in the mail for my collegiate ring, and I put the 7 closest to the inside of my finger, and the 7.5 on the outside of my finger, and it seemed to be a good fit. I might just do a 7.5 instead of a .25 because then I can wear 3 separate stackable bands together :P

If I could, I'd wear stackable rings knuckle to nail.

Thanks again ladies!

Then you could make a ring cake that looks as stunning as coati''s!!
