This was a fairly recent engagement ring upgrade and whilst I think it’s amazing and really love it, I’m a fickle beast and my head has been turned by a larger antique cushion stone and after much deliberation I’ve decided to go with that one instead.

This is an antique old cut diamond which I believe to be transitional. The main diamond is 1.81 carats exactly (est measurements 7.83 x 7.87 x 5.20mm) VS clarity. It is in an 8 prong platinum mount (size i 1/2 with sizing beads) with approx 0.30. carats side diamonds (est G-H/SI)

I’ve had recent valuations by both EDR and Safeguard- EDR estimate the colour to be I/J, Safeguard estimate L/M. I have had diamonds of various colour grades and in my opinion it’s more like a K/L - It does have warmth to it in certain lighting conditions but the majority of time faces up as a soft ivory colour.

The ring is really a showstopper and the diamond has plenty of life and sparkle. Being an old cut it seems to have bigger bolder flashes than a modern round brilliant and picks up lots of pastel colours, I could watch it sparkle for hours (& have done!)

Safeguard valuation is £10,700

I’m selling for £5,800 ono

Flipping gorgeous! Hope it finds an amazing forever home (if only I had funds, but husband loves my pear & has no intentions of ever replacing it) then I would snap it up - it's a great price for here in the UK!

Love the chunky faceting! Don't seem to see many decent stones over here in the UK - nice find! :)
