I will have to get some perspective shots here soon. All I know is that these pieces are stamped with 14K. But I don’t have any information on the ring other than that. I wasn’t going to buy it but he kept lowering the price. He had it listed for $1800 and there was absolutely no way that I was going to buy it at that. So he ended up selling it to me for more than half of that price. Did I get a deal? Probably not. But he sized it for me for free and I really like the band, so…
PS won’t let me use the formatting tools so hopefully you can click on the link to view a quick video:
I’m so bummed, y’all!!! When he sized it and first gave it to me, I noticed one of the tiny baguettes at the end was missing. So he repaired it. Then when I got home and was admiring it more closely with my loupe, I thought it looked like there was glue or something under that baguette and it was wonky… like tilted. I barely touched it with the tip of a thumbtack and it popped out. That’s when I saw the most hideous attempt at a repair ever! I called him up and he apologized about having the diamond fall out and told me to bring it back and he’d make it right. But y’all… the damage already is already done. And then I see on the receipt “No returns, exchange only”. *sigh*
I am right there with you. I may have to “live up to my name” today and speak to the manager. Sucky thing is, I really like the ring. But now it has bad juju. That would make me so mad @RetroQT...I would let him see that you are not happy when you bring it back. Be pretty firm about it and tell him you don’t want him to glue it back. Also, have him check out the other diamonds to make sure they are not being held in by glue. If you want to return it then insist that you were trusting he was selling you a ring in good condition..not held together by glue... If you’re not comfortable with keeping it then insist on the return..If he gives you a hard time about a return I would go back to him when the shop is busy and speak a tone above what is normal for your voice. Be firm..
Your other option is to bring it to another jeweler that has a good bench for a repair. Ask him to pay for it or just give you a return.
Good luck..
I dropped the ring off to have the baguette replaced and he called me this afternoon to say it was ready. So I went by and picked it up. Very pleasant as always. Checked it with my loupe and everything seemed good. And within an hour of leaving, while driving, it popped out again. So I called them up tried to see about working a deal to return the ring and he refused, told me to bring it back. So I know I’m an idiot for this but I’m gonna give him one last shot and I explained to him that I can’t even wear the ring because the diamond keeps popping out. If this third time he cannot get it done properly, then I now have the name of a jeweler who is very well trusted in the area who I will be taking it to. It just sucks because I know it’s going to be at my own expense. I feel like a fool right now.

UPDATE: I went in to pick up the ring for the third time (same baguette popped out three times) and I was so nervous. He handed it to me and said he made sure he ordered the exact size match and did everything he could to make it perfect. I took out the loupe and inspected it. This time, both baguettes on the ends matched, neither was tilted, it was all polished and clean around the area, etc… He said that if it pops out again, he will give me my money back.
I wore it out of the store and for the rest of the evening. And then I wore it all day today. After 24 hours, the baguette is still intact. (Yay!)
Thank you!Yay!!! I’m so happy for you!!

ive been holding my breath reading this
That’s kind of how I felt wearing it. I kept checking it throughout the day and held my breath each time.
Thank you!
To be honest, I am too. I really do love the band. I was so scared to wear it. But I do feel better now. Cautious, but better.
Oh my! That is a gorgeous ring! I love it!
