My husband's cousin found an engagement ring on my husband's familie's farm. We all live around the farm and my husband and his cousin work on it with my father in law. He was feeding the cows hay when he saw a ring on the ground next to one of the bails. He picked it up and asked his wife and daughters if it was their's and they said no. He then asked my husband if it was mine. He said it probably was because he knows I have lots of rings and he put it in his coat pocket. My husband came home and handed it to me and my daughters both were excited because they like rings too so they grabbed it away from me. But I took it and looked closely and it was stamped 14kp and it had a sparkly diamond about a .25 carat with diamonds down the band and a wedding band sautered to it. I told my husband it was an engagement ring. No one but my husband's family would walk by the cows so we had no idea whose it could be. My mother in law said it should go to her because it is her farm. But in the end we found out it belonged to a neighbor down the street who lost it in the summer. Somehow the ring made it up to the farm, who knows how. But some girl is pretty happy now I bet :loopy:

Wow - that's quite a story with a fabulous ending! She must be so happy to have her ring back!

Yay, I love a lost ring happy ending! :appl: :appl:

So cute. I'd like to think so too.

It's crazy it got found, like a needle in a haystack! But it is funny because my husband's cousin and my husband and other people who looked at it before me all thought it was fake because of the 14kp, they thought it meant plated. You are probably right about couple in the barn though :naughty: The couple just got married about a year ago. I like happy endings too:-)

Is it an old ring or set? I thought they stopped using that 14kp designation a couple of decades ago.

So glad you found its owner! Makes you feel good when something gets back to who it belongs.

That's exactly what I thought TC1987! I was trying to think of whose it could be and I thought for sure the plumb stamp was used in the 80's or around that time. I read somewhere they don't stamp that on rings anymore. The girl who lost it is probably like 20 years old but the ring looked modern to me. It was a princess cut. Maybe it could have came from the 90's? Yes, tyty, I am glad she got it back. I would be sad if I lost my wedding ring too, it's not the fanciest or biggest diamond but it means more than any of my new rings :twirl:

Great story! I love a happy ending. :)
