Hi gang! I was wondering if any of you had a good suggestion for a father-daughter dance.
Here are the realities --
My dad is not only tone-deaf, but has little to no rhythm -- Did you ever see Mr. Holland''s Opus where the football player/drummer has a helmet on and Mr. Opus is "helping" him find the beat by banging on the helmet with a (drum) mallet? Yeah, my dad needs that. It''s hard because I DO have rhythm and then I get all tripped up when dancing with someone who doesn''t.
My dad cannot dance, except the foxtrot (according to my mom) and I will not foxtrot for our dance. Cuz I don''t know how. I watched Dancing with the Stars and all that, but it didn''t click.
I am not a great dancer. My fiance and I have sort of figured out a system for dancing, but other than that, I''m at a loss.
Dad and I would like to practice a few times before the wedding.
We''re looking for a SHORT song, slowish, either a waltz or 4/4 time thing. Nothing over-the-top schmaltzy because he and I need to focus on counting, not on making snarky comments about the song.
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
