freeze dried rose petals?

I just posted this question in another thread, too, but for fear it could get lost there, I figured I''d start a new one.

Anyone know anything about using freeze-dried versus fresh rose petals? They are supposedly not slippery and won''t stain, and the colors and petal sizes look gorgeous ... but I have no idea what it''d cost to get the same amount of petals from a florist? As I really don''t want to be stripping rose petals the day before my wedding, I like this idea, but I dont'' want to be a total sucker either -- I''m trying to stay on a budget here!

I think I answered my own question! Found a few sites that have both fresh and freeze-dried, and they are the same price. Now I guess I just need to contact a local florist to see what they would charge for rose petals to see what''s the best deal!
