What is the cut of the stones in this ruby band ring?

Excuse the fuzz and dirt specs on the ring. It obviously needs to be cleaned. The rubies also don't have such a pink tint as in the photo. The red actually shows deeper in color. The truer red color is what initially attracted me to this ring. However, photos can be funky in showing real life colors. For this reason, I have been wary of purchasing colored stones via the Internet. The eye often sees things differently than a camera.

The stones in this ring are all uniform in size, but the tables aren't. They seem to be a mixed bag. The tables are also higher than on the Princess cut diamond melee on my 5 stone ring.

Thank you, Autumn in New England.

I think you're right, and that's why I asked. I've never seen another French cut stone in person. Therefore, I had no personal experience to judge the stone cut by.

The ring was a fairly expensive impulse "travel" purchase made mainly because I liked the color (which doesn't show properly in my photos). Back when I bought it in 2019, I just liked the ring... and got it on a whim. So far, unfortunately, I've never been able to wear it. The ring still needs to be sized up 2 1/2 years after I bought it.

I usually don't impulse buy higher ticket jewelry like I did this ring. But the moonlight and exotic lands and the pretty color took advantage of my better senses. Back in 2019 (before I joined Pricescope), I'd never heard of French Cut stones; so, I just assumed the stones were Princess Cut. But under magnification, they don't look like the Princess Cut stones I'm familiar with.

Without extreme magnification that shows ever flaw possible (like in my photo), it actually is a pretty ring. The wonky tables kind of bother me, but you can't see that with the naked eye. I do like the raised tables; which you can see with the naked eye.

French cut would be my guess too.

DK ;))

Some of us like wonky, it tells you the stones were cut by a craftsman, and not by a computer!

Your ring is gorgeous and deserves to be worn! =)2

I love this! It happens to the best of us. :kiss2: Back in the day, I also used to assume all square cuts were princess. But the French cut is an antique style, which makes is super cool. Enjoy your beautiful ring!
