Saturday night after dinner we decided to get some frozen yogurt, so we go to this little strip mall near our house. I pull into a parking spot right in front of a store called The Diamond Market (this action may or may not have been intentional

). As we get out of the car I notice something absolutely horrific.

The shop is empty and there''s a realtor''s sign in the window.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

This is the conversation that followed:
Me: Oh no! They went out of business!
Him: (jokingly) Too bad, that''s where I was getting your ring.
Me: If you would have bought my ring already, they may not have had to go out of business.
Him: Believe me, my purchase of a ring would not have kept them in business!
Me: Oh, that''s sad. Sad on sooooo many different levels.

So we got our frozen yogurt and went home. Later that evening I told him, "You know, seeing that jewelry store out of business really made me sad. Almost as much as seeing a shoe store go out of business. With the economy the way it is, you never know, all the jewelry stores may go out of business. We really should go out and get my ring soon." His response? With a smirk, "You think so, huh?" He just shook his head and laughed as he walked out of the room.

I bet he thought I was joking.

You''re cracking me up with that one...

Hahaha! This reminds me of me and SO. We always joke about this kind of thing.

(Like yesterday, he texted that he was at a silent auction and I texted ''buy me something pretty!''
31.gif
he didn''t bite though, sigh)

> Sometimes I really have to believe THEY JUST DON''T GET IT!(?)

sidebar: Can you tell I am frustrated this morning...

...good because I AM.

Snickerdoodle: I hope its soon honey...waiting is a you-know-what.

Oh this is exactly how E and I tease each other. It''s so cute!

It''s too bad that little jeweler had to close, I think it''s so sad to see small businesses going under.

Don''t worry though he''ll still be able to find you the perfect ER and at least you still got your dessert.

same here. Me and my SO are EXACTLY the same in these types of situations. Its too funny to see that others are just like us. lol

I especially love:

"Him: Believe me, my purchase of a ring would not have kept them in business!"

What did he do? Will he be apologizing with chocolate, or will it take jewelry?

He already did this morning w/ a phone call...but I am making him suffer!!!

Can you believe he actually had the nerve to egg me on last night about the whole engagement/ring thing? I know it was just to get a rise out of me. Convo:

him: So no more emails/pictures of your dream diamond eh?
me: no, why?
him: because you were obsessed before and now it has since stopped
me: well because I figure you already know and I am leaving it up to you...
him: you know you're dying to know more
me: actually I'm not. It will happen when it happens and honestly I have more important things to think about (cool as a cucumber baby!)
him: Babe, you're such a bad liar--dont belieeeeeve you (UGGGHH...he said it so annoying too!)

So here is where my latina demon came out...I guess, in a sense I gave him the show he was looking for...I hate when I do that! Basically I asked him why he's trying to play games with me. I am doing exactly what he asked that I do...let him take care of the details, and now he's bored because I am not bugging him about it. Honestly it was really more dramatic than it needed to be but this LIW crap is starting to get on my nerves.

Am I crazy? I can handle it...

awwwwww B. lol! My boyfriend IS EXACTLY the same. He doesn't want me talking about it, but when I don't, he starts to talk about it. I ask him why is he teasing me, why is he being "mean" to me, you dont want me talking about it so why are you doing this....Then I start and chime in and go on about the topic....then he doesn't want to hear it. lol wtf? lol
20.gif

Thanks sweetie--you're such a doll *hugs*

I'll give it to him--the boy has learned which buttons to push for blast off. In retrospect, I should have just sat there looking at him like he was a moron, but I guess I don't have that calm gene. Oh well...what can you do?

BTW: Snicker, he had better be bringing me home some engagement chicken (or something equally good) tonight and hope I still want to marry him when he asks me!

Chocolate might score brownie points. Jewelry? Well now...

You girls are too young to know how to handle them. There is something between feeding into their drama, and total silence...it''s called "bored indifference".

The next time one of the guys starts in, you don''t stay silent and you don''t go off...you just smile very sweetly and say "that''s nice dear, whatever you think" as though you were discussing whether you should buy Pepsi or Coke
20.gif

That will push THEIR buttons as they will be completely baffled by how you can seem so calm and uninterested. Hehehe.

Keep them wondering ladies, keep THEM waiting

lol good idea. I've been trying this from time to time but still have my moments. I need to keep this in mind and watch myself.
