The last thing I thought I would ever buy was a full eternity band. It never made sense to me to have so many diamonds hidden from view and weren't they uncomfortable? Anyway, the more I saw them (thanks PS), the more I wanted one. I didn't want one that was too bulky, nor one that looked more like a petite stacker. Sadly my budget didn't leave me much room.
I trawled eBay forever, looking for the right option but I wanted a yellow gold band with 1.5 - 2 ctw of diamonds. Of course, the size could only be 5/5.5 or 7 so the search was that much harder. I didn't want to commit to a new band in case I didn't like wearing one.
Finally, patience reaped reward and I found a vintage ring with 1.68 ct of stones and size 5. The high-mag pics showed a pretty well loved metalware/band but with nice looking stones. The seller didn't really have specs but I made an offer for what I was happy to pay, and they accepted. I hoped I made the right decision!
After three weeks it finally arrived and I am in love!! I can see why people love full eternities now. You don't realise how much of the inside of your hand you do see during the day. It's so nice to see bling instead of just metal. I love the weight of it on my finger too. It fits my left hand the best so I can use it as a fancy wedding band as opposed to my poor original band which tells a lot of stories under the loupe. I had hoped it would go on my right finger easier but taking it on and off will require soap, even in winter (( Ah well. Not bad though!
The stones are pretty white (I'm guessing no lower than I) and under the loupe, I could barely see any chips or inclusions. The metalware is sound and while not new, I can't see the scratches. Of course the science nerd in me immediately put it under black light and four of the stones have very strong blue fluorescence.
I won't be in a rush to upgrade. 1.68ct worth of stones is just right for my hand and lifestyle I think but I'll never say never
For those with full eternities, any damage to the ring from general wear? Any other nightmare stories or things I should be aware of?
I'll try not to wear it day to day but on the other hand, I want to enjoy it too. Thanks!!
