funny little date thing....

I noticed something kind of cool last night while filling out an online registry. Our wedding date is the reciprocal of my birthday!

Birthday: 06/10
Wedding: 10/06

and both years end in 7.

Cool, eh? Now neither of us have a reason to forget the anniversary... just remember one or the other and we''re all set.

Our date, 11/03/07 is my late grandma''s birthday, so it has special meaning for me. It''s also exactly a decade from when we first dated. And two days before my birthday, and two days AFTER our as of now anniversary. I''m hoping we don''t get too confused.

it''s funny how when you choose the dates many times it''s about what looks good to you both in written form and numeric. or it was for us anyway. in the end we had to choose a few more dates because our venue was booked on our first choice, but our date turned out okay i think. nothing super cool about it, but it looks good written. hehee.

Too funny, I do the same stuff. When we settled on a month, I immediately started looking for the "best" date. Paul didn''t get it and kept asking what made any day better than another. I like January 20, 2007 because it will always show the month and year we married: 1-2007, when you take the 20 and add it to the ''07. Paul just rolled his eyes, but it''s enough to make me think it''s just the best date, ever. Heehee. Here''s hoping when we meet with the pastor next week, it''s a go!!

Congrats on setting a date you can be very happy with! I love the idea of thinking of special things about dates. It''s so fun!!!

I like the "date thing" too... when I was in college long before I met my fiance, I decided that I wanted to get married in 2007, because it was the next time my grandmother''s bday (Sept 29th) fell on a Saturday. Now we really are getting married in 2007! But 9/29 was already taken at the hotel we wanted.

Then I thought maybe June 2nd (also a Saturday in ''07) because we met on 2/6... then would be getting married on 6/2... kind of a fun book-end thing there. But that date was taken as well...

So we settled on May 5th out of process of elimination... and only weeks later did somebody comment "oh, Cinco de Mayo!" It hadn''t even occurred to us... but now I think it''s great! Our wedding is a national holiday somewhere for millions of people.

And 5/5 is easy to remember, too.

Haha... FI is already working on a signature drink for our reception... I''m sure it will involve tequila somehow!!

Hehe ours is June 23rd, so it''s like 6 = 2*3, which is a little complicated, but still enough of a pattern to make me happy. Also, I wish it had been 2006, because then it would be bookended by the 6''s but now there''s just a random 7 at the end.

What do you wanna bet in 20 or 30 years, my brain just thinks we must have gotten married in 2006 just because the numbers make more sense that way?

Ours is 9/30/06. Nothing too spectacular about it, except that 3 is one of my lucky numbers. All the numbers in our wedding date are divisible by 3.

A stretch, I know!!
