A lot has happened since the last time I posted.

-BF resigned from his CO position and went back to his old job and is going back to school.
-the above has resulted in a pretty big pay-cut
-i have asked him if the engagement would be pushed back even further b/c of the lack of money, he stated "not necessarily, you never know."
-the reason for him not asking comes down to money and that ''rings cost thousands of dollars'' (he said) to which I replied, ''I never said I wanted another ring. I told you a ring isn''t as important to me as the gesture.'' He said in reply: ''Oh, I just assumed you would want another one... after all, the one you have is pretty small...'' (At this point, I assured him no, i love my ring and another one is not necessary but completely up to him if he wants to get me another or not.)

So am I further or closer to a proposal? Who knows... but at least we''re talking about it!!

Well it sounds like things are going well, despite the slight reservations due to the job issue.

And it''s obvious he loves you A LOT!!

*awe*

Keep us updated. :)

Hi bubbly! Welcome back :-)

It''s great that you guys are talking about it -- the thing about changing a life situation (job to school) is that it also makes the person doing the changing a LOT busier... just in terms of changing mental attitudes, routines, etc. Not to mention that going to school is expensive... so, knowing that he loves you and is planning on marrying you eventually, I''d IMHO put off expectations of a quick engagement until he fully adjusts to this change. But who knows? Maybe now that he knows you''re not looking for a new ring as much as you''re looking for a solid commitment, the proposal will take place tomorrow!
