GAHHH How mad wold you be?!?!

So, my FF bought the ring on 7/20..and had heard nothing up till today.. The SA didnt tell us how long it would take or anyhting, just that SHE would email us when it was ready.. well fast forward to today....

We were over by the mall so we decided we would stop and ask whats up with it since its been over 2 weeks.. well the guy goes back and says yep its here, and has been ready since 7/26!!!!! its 8/04!!! OMG my FF was LIVID!! He was like why did no one call or email me, and he goes the number we called was XXX-XXXX with the last 4 numbers wrong!! We were like where the hell did she come up with those numbers, they arent even my last four, and he goes well whats the email on there, and he goes oh there isnt one... So how was she planning on emailing us when she didnt put it down!?!?!?

Well when we bought it, she made a snood remark about how she was glad she could help us but since the other SA was the one who found it (and actually did help us, the one who rang it up had helped us before, but not really she wasnt helpful at all) would get the commission and if in the future we could go to her!!! Well no way in HELL are we going back to her after this happened. After I had tried it on, she was like ringing it up before my FF said he even wanted it!! He told me this later that he was going to wait to buy it the next day because he wanted to surpise me..and since she was already ringing it up he didnt want to say no and then me be sad...so blah..

BUT what makes it worse is that my FF didnt have his wallet with him today because we were originally just dropping his mom off at the airport, and since he didnt have an ID we couldnt get it.. GAHHH... but thats okay bcuz its not like I will get it tomorrow or anything, BUT it did fit like a glove and I loved it :-) and then ANOTHER thing is that the guy was just going to give us it in a blue Tiffany pouch, no box or anything.. grrr....

Okay sorry for the long post... me and FF were just reallllly mad!!!!!!!! I mean come on you pay extra $$ for a tiffany ring and they dont even tell you its in!?!!?!? blahhhhhhhhhhh

That does sound incredibly unprofessional of her. I think with high end stores it’s a hit or miss. You either get the SA that understands you’re paying for a top dollar item and treats you as such. Or you get the SA that doesn’t care about your business because it’s not like they won’t get commission from somewhere else. That’s just like what happens here in almost every store in Coral Gables. It’s mega annoying. But don’t let the fact that this happened cloud the most important detail:

I know it was super exciting, but a part of me was a little sad that I knew he did... But I have been patient and just said you make it a suprise whenever...so we will see... We called our original SA from WPB and she was MORTIFIED...she called the manager at the store here in Otown and they were going to send the assistant manager to our house with the ring.. haha But we declined because we were going to be that way tomorrow...its like though... you WOULD have gotten the commission from the beginning if you had helped up, but you only wanted to give us 2 mins of your time where the other lady gave us an hour! :-) my ring I thhink kinda looks like yours..and I LOVE it!

You know I thought the same thing that it was kind of a bummer knowing he bought the ring and knowing what it looked like. But it was like Christmas day the moment he took it out LOL. And you do kind of forget what it looks like on your hand.

no...no idea when he will propose... sometime by the end of the year.. :-) He said he already planned out how he wanted to propose... so we''ll see :-) hehe im just going to try my hardest to be patient and let him surprise me :-)

Congratulations on the ring. That is so awful about the store. I''m glad that you called and complained. that is not the type of service you expect anywhere, much less T&co.
 
that is really bad service. i cant even elaborate. i am so surprised that you were treated that way. i am at a loss that the sa was so crass. uughhhh.

ya, we were suprised.. every other time we''ve gone in there, just to look or purchase something from their silver line, we were NEVER treated bad, and the SAs ALWAYS remembered us... Now he was purchasing something 100x as expensive and they treat us like that, we couldnt believe it.. gahh.. oh well we are just going to work with the awesome SA in WPB...

Oh and when we went in to look at the bead set...some guy helped up, and he proceeded to tell me they didnt have a bead set band in RB.. everytime I go in there I want to walk him over to the case and point it out and go SEE you do...learn ur shit..haha :-)

I can''t believe they treated you so poorly I would be very tempted to write a letter or lodge a complaint with their head office, you go to tiff''s for the experience and the service and that is what you deserve.
 
How exciting that he has the ring - I''m just sorry you received such poor service and from Tiffs too!

There is so no way I would be walking out the door with a Tiffs ring that wasn''t in a little blue box!! By golly, you paid for that blue box and you should get it!!

I was talked to quite rudely by a salesperson a Tiff''s the last time I was in there, which really disappointed me since I had been so in love with that store until then. I''m sorry you had to experience it when buying your engagement ring! Sucks.

But, he has it now!! How exciting is that?!?!!!

hahaha he keep insisting that I needed to take pictures.. But i refrained.. I told him to keep it in the safe until I get it, I wanna forget what it looks like, but.. he did let me put it on one more time when I got home today :-)
Oh and Tiffanys was so whatever about the stuff happening that they told my FF that they have something for him for ruining the surprise/not notifying us and what not.. wonder what it is... hehehe :-) I told him Id like this..

Whats better than a new bracelet to go with your ering? hehehe

No idea when his "plans" are...hahaha but I keep telling him that Ill be patient.. hehehe and that I know Ill have to wait a while to get it :-)

It is SO PRETTY!!!!

Gaaaah, Tiffany SAs are so hit or miss. FI had an amazing one for my pieces but sadly, he passed away. He sent us gifts and birthday and Christmas cards. He made us feel like family. Since then, we''ve stopped shopping there. But maybe it''s time to return for a new lookie!

I wouldn''t really worry about it.

Sure, I see why you''d be upset...but years from now it won''t matter, if you even remember it at all. But, dwelling on it now will only pepper your feelings towards this exciting time.

Now, here is the point where I point out some facts: While your sales associate absolutely fell short of your expectations, that''s her right, she doesn''t have to be a good SA. Tiffany''s isn''t known for always having the most warm, coddling people working there. If you spent time looking thru PS about different people''s experience with Tiffany''s--you''d see you''re not the only couple who has gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to customer service, sadly. Sure, she could have done a bunch of things differently...like, taking your real phone number, or e-mail. But I think sometimes that Tiffany''s "profiles" their clients...I think that, although sometimes their wrong, they make snap assumptions about wheither a customer is serious vs. window shopping. Prehaps your SA pigeon holed you as only window shopping, dispite that you ordered something to look at in the future (since, admittably you hadn''t purchased it yet and were only getting a closer look). It''s all around unfortunate, but if I had to guess about why she was so indifferent, that would be it.
