I mentioned in the BWW forum that DH and I went to Houston for a mini-moon. One of the places we went was the Museum of Natural Science and they currently have a gem exhibit. There were lots of rough gems and then a vault of gorgeous jewels. Here are some pictures... I feel so blessed to have seen these!

This is an amethyst...

Ok that didn''t quite work... give me a minute

A Russian "Order" Pin. I don''t have all of the information on these because I was just taking pictures of their plaques and some came out blurry... so I''m not sure which Order this represents.

Thank you for the pics. I like the emerald tiara. It is truly a pity that tiaras have gone out of fashion!

wow, those make me wish that I had been born a countess! Thanks for sharing

Oh wow, I went to that exhibit in 2004, but that was before I was interested in gems, so I didn''t pay as much attention as I should have.

Great pictures! Thanks for posting them for us.

I"m glad everyone likes them!

Kim: It IS a shame that tiaras aren''t very "in" these days... other than at proms at least

There were SO many displays so I had to pick and choose which to take photos of or else we would have been there all day! DH is so cute and knows I love pricescope and jewels so he was so excited to point out really unique ones to make sure I didn''t pass them up

Ohhh, pretty. I like the rocks that look kinda fuzzy from further away but are a whole bunch of little crystals up close. And, of course, the jewellery!!
