Calling @Miki Moto, @prs, or other experts with AGL certified emeralds or cs.

I am curious to see if the color shown on your AGL report matches exactly or looks very close to the color of your gem? I would think that AGL or GIA would keep it real and won’t beautify the gemstone in question, right?

Wouldn’t it be a more “reliable” way to judge the color when shopping online?

I'm far from an expert but the GIA reports I have on my paraibas look exactly like them. The vendor's pics definitely were not nearly accurate as the report pics.

That is what I was thinking. Thanks

My AGL memos do not look like my stones. In fact, I think most labs have a sentence specifically stating to the effect that the stone pictured is not a colour representation or something similar.

I read "Images do not accurately portray size or color", but I wonder if it's just part of legal terms. Thanks.

This, I have two AGL emerald certs and the photos are not very good.

On the two emeralds I have, one with GIA one with IGI report, neither looks sufficiently realistic. I take the report images as an extra info but would not buy on report photos alone, always in combination with vendor's photo and comment. Emerald seem particularly tricky though.

Some of my colored stones looked not at all like the report/brief. in fact, I had wondered if they took a picture of the wrong stone in a couple of cases:eek2::lol-2: Maybe its their lighting setup, I don't really know, but sometimes the stones have an extreme 'flat' look to them. I can imagine that might be what you're talking about.

Thanks all for the feedback. Appreciate it.
