Gemstone preference please help..I can''t decide

I bought this yellow gold ring to use for my mounting of gems. I have since ordered a few choices for replacement and now I guess I over did it because helpppppp...I really need help.
A couple of stones I already had in my collection, the BLUE star sapphire but not sure of the fit and the golden tourmaline well I can't decide.
I ordered the RUBY which is a nice vivid red but not sure if I like the contrast with the diamonds.
I also just received the GREEN sapphire, don't really know what to think of it because it's not that impressive of a green, almost a light grass green.

My favourite stone is the purplish SPINEL, very sparkly but a little smaller stone and it seems to loose itself from the halo, maybe a good thing.

Can anyone see anything or have an opinion.All opinions welcome good or bad...Please help me with advise.

From the pictures, the ruby stands out by far. It may not be sparkly, but it''s vividness really stands out from the rest. The other stones kind of get lost in the setting.

I have to agree with twodoor regarding the ruby, but I also like the yellow stone - a citrine I suppose? It makes me think of daisies and cheers me up

I actually disagree on the ruby--it''s not my fave (even though I usually like rubies).

1) Purple spinel (does look sparkly! purple is not my fave but this one looks lovely)
2) Blue star sapphire (love the color in contrast w/ the diamonds and the metal of the ring)
3) Gold tourmaline (also looks sparkly--but then again I''m partial to this color in general!

...in that order

Just my opinion though, and take it with a grain of salt as I am not experienced with colored stones...

I agree with Musey. The purple spinel caught my eye first. It''s very sparkley and looks lovely with the halo style. HTH!

Well, I think the one you shouldn''t go with is the green stone. Everyone seems to vote for the others, so it''s just a matter of personal preference. I like the ruby since I always like that color and I like sapphires and rubies in those "princess Di" like settings.
