Getaway Car?

Is anyone renting a ''getaway car''? If so, what are you renting?

FH and I decided that since we''ll probably show up to the ceremony in our parents'' cars, and we don''t have to GO anywhere for the reception (same site), we should hire a cool getaway car for our exit. However, I''m not sure how much is TOO much to spend to have someone drive us a whole 20 minutes (though we will be tired and probably very grateful for his or her services).

We''re thinking about renting this ''68 Ford Mustang with ''limo service'' for $75/h with a 3 hr minimum. Does that seem like too much? We''re really only needing it for ~1 hour, but this ''minimum'' charge might be the norm.

I love cool getaway cars!

I dont have a pic, but we used a London Taxi to take us from the church to the reception and the reception to our B&B. I loved it! I had plenty of room to get in/out, plus it just looked cool. They decorated it and we had the cutest little old man driving us. It was $65 an hour, $20 each additional hour, but I dont think they charged us more than $65 because both took way less than an hour... we saved big bucks over a limo!

I'd keep looking to see if you could find something that didnt have a min time. Do you have a friend or know someone with a cool car that would be willing to drive you guys? Maybe contact a local Classic Car Club and see if someone was willing to do it? I think $225 + a tip is a lot for just an hour. Limo companies just rip you off with that min time crap!

Check small hotels and B&Bs to see if they know of anything... we found the taxi through a small hotel.

we had a white vintage bentley. $250. yes, a bit excessive for a 5 minute drive but we LOVED it! no regrets. wonderful detail NOT missed by my guests. and made for some great PICS.
