Getting Excited

I'm getting excited to start my "one year ago today" letters.... I'm starting July 23rd!!! I'm still on the fence about doing the proposing myself with the last letter, and the one year mark of us dating... the more that I've been thinking about it the more doubtful I get about doing it, though I have gotten nothing but support from everyone I know. I just think maybe I'm getting to impatient, and should just let things happen in their own time. I just get scared as I did that once before and it got dragged out for 7 years and ended badly. He says that he's not the last guy, and I did make it pretty clear before we started officially dating that I was looking for a serious relationship that leads to a marriage and family, so he knows what I want and we have talked about getting married. anyways, I'm glad that I have ps to get my thinking and LIW'ness' under control... I mean I'm not getting any younger, haha!

I'd like to not only give him the letter but do something special for that day that would relate. I just have to think what to do. Let's see my "events" are:
1) 7/23 - gave him my phone number
2) 7/29 - first dinner 'date'
3) 8/08 - I knew that it was going to be more than 'just' friends
4) 8/19 - monster trucks 'date' - also first time I asked him to do something instead of him asking
5) 8/22 - our first kiss
6) 8/24 - his birthday
7) 8/27 - official couple

only twenty days till I begin I hope he likes my letters!

Oh my gosh that sounds so creative and so fun! I don't remember ANY of my firsts with SO, except our first day we met and the day he asked me to be his GF! And the only reason I was able to backtrack the day we met was b/c we had gone out two days later to watch a meteor shower! I had to google up those dates! LOL!

#2 can you take him back to the restaurant you guys had your first dinner date?
#4 something monster trucks related?


surprise each day? first kiss day.. well.. you can do lots of kissing by getting away for the evening at a nice hotel or B&B?

I did something similar a few years ago when I surprised DH with a trip to Las Vegas! I had first cleared it with his boss to be sure he could get the time off, then booked the hotel and flight... and at 28 days to go, I started sending emails with the # in them. Just silly things but there was an obvious countdown happening. I was sure he'd guess in no time, but it was 5 days before when he looked at me and said, "are you losing your mind? What are all these crazy things you are sending me?" So I sent the final one - a series of 5's in it and then he guessed "are we going away somewhere? To Las Vegas??" and I was so thrilled that I could surprise him AND pay for it!

Enjoy the count down - its just as exciting for you as it will be for him!

This is so sweet...I know how you feel...I wasted 11 years with someone and my BF always tells me he's not my ex...and he is nothing like him! Aren't we lucky?? You are making this very memorable!!

yes I'm excited to make sure amazing memories with him, he's the first guy I've dated that loves the little romantic things I do for him! I love him very much, which was very hard for me to admit, because of my past history.

#2 I would love to take him to that restaurant, but it closed shortly after we started dating (we only went there the one time)

Yes first kiss (our second didn't happen until a about a week and a half later, poor boy), too bad the day is on a Wednesday - but I'm sure I'll think of something.

the letters are coming along... I'm trying to add a couple actually... I know that we went to see a movie, but I can't for the life of me remember what one we saw first or the date it was... And that night is the night that we got our song... because when we got back to my house we were sitting in the car and it came on and I made him sit and listen to it with me. It's now our song and it will probably be our first dance song too... "Crazy Girl" Eli Young Band

Day #1... I was going to give him my card/letter this morning, but I left it at the office last night so I'm going to have to give it to him this evening... but acutally that's okay as I get up and leave for work before he gets up, and now this way I get to watch him read it... I'll post of pic of the card/letter later this evening...

ACTUALLY, he was a little sad, because he didn't get me anything... but was super stoked that I remembered and that we are getting Dish! (we don't currently have any sort of TV - we only watch DVD's) I'm excited to see if he starts anticipating when he'll get a new letter, I think after the 2nd or 3rd he'll realize what's going on...

That is so sweet!! I love that he may be anticipating more letters - that is so special. Do you really think he'll figure out a proposal is at the end of the letters??? He doesn't know when the end will be tho - you just might trigger him to propose to you!!!
