I dont know if you all remember my 75.8ct ametrine. I took it to a GIA Gemo. 2 weeks ago, and it came back as natural (mined from the earth) bolivian ametrine, with possable heat treatment (although he cant tell for sure if it is or not). I was thinking of having it basket set....but because of its size I decided to have it wire wrapped by a native american wrapper in the area. He does absolutely BEAUTIFUL work. I will have it made into a pendant.
I wont get it back for 2 weeks because he is out of town this week, but I will post pictures ASAP! I cant wait to see it!!

Here is a picture of the stone. It has a couple natural inclusions (feather, and a fingerprint), but for its size it is a VERY clean stone.

Yum!

Wow, that is a really beautiful ametrine. I have a cheap little washed out 8 x 6 mm EC ametrine that cost me under $20 - of course that is why it''s still in the little gem case.

I love well done wire wrapped pendants. Can''t wait to see the pics of the pendant when it is finished.

Congratulations! Nice stone and nicely cut, too. I misset the whole thread, but it will be a challenge to set it! Also to wear it on your neck, ha-ha!

If you do not mind, can you tell me the name of the seller? For one reason - I make lists of people who sell real stones and lists of sellers who carry fakes. I am not going to buy from a seller who sold even one fake.

Toolhaus is only marginally helpful because there are so many angry exchanges between the seller and the buyer, that I get lost in reading.

Thanks for the compliments! It will be fun to wear!!!

I would share the seller but I don't remember who it was. It was a private guy about 9 months ago selling off the stuff in his safe for cash. He sold acouple things and then stopped selling. He bought the rough from somewhere and had it cut by a guy in Florida.I got it for a STEAL at 6$, I would assume way less then it cost to cut a 75 ct piece.

The color is neat in it. Because the color has 3 shifts, the orange and purple flash all over the stone, instead of on just one side.

That looks spot on to all the ametrine i looked at in the 20 pound sack..it''s very very big..heheheh..bling stone ...but those colors look right for a natural ametrine from what i have seen..the yellow is almost always somewhat subtle looking..

Oh I can''t wait to see how they wire wrap that!!

Very pretty!! I can''t wait to see it when its wire-wrapped.

I hope it doesn''t kill your neck when you wear it. Wow, massive gem! I can''t wait to see the wire wrapping. There is an Etsy seller that Blithsome used to do wire wrapping of his peridot ring. Gorgeous work. I can''t find the link, but he posted photos in the gallery and in the eye candy thread. Just to give you some ideas.

Wow that''s yet another HUGE gem:) looking forward to see it set!

Better start your neck exercises now so you’ll have enough strength to wear it.
