I'm looking for relatively inexpensive gold fill or plated antique pocket watch chains 16 inches or longer.

I'd like to try playing around with layering them as necklaces to see if I like them before investing in more expensive pieces

I hear you about decorative links, love those. I actually had a watch chain that had figural heads (dog or alligator never figured it out) that I sold a couple years ago. Definitely the coolest one I’ve seen.

Try looking on Etsy, there are plenty - although most are around 13.5 to 14 inches.
