Thoughts on this oval?

I'm struggling to fine a pale yellow/slightly champagne coloured stone. They seem impossible to come by when you are under 1ct!

What do you think of the colour of this along side the GIA characteristics? I'm planning to set in yellow gold with a white sunburst halo to play up the colour, but I want something more buttery and off yellow rather than in your face bright yellow.

It looks a lot darker for the grading to me.

Image of what I'm trying to achieve attached. Do you think this particular stone is too yellow to give me the look I want?

Thanks!!Screenshot 2022-09-14 at 12.32.42.png

Try these guys

I’ve bought from them many times and been happy with my purchases. They have a lot of unusual colour stones around the 1ct and under mark.

From what you’ve posted, the stone looks almost chartreuse versus the buttery yellow you are looking for.
Of course, one can never be certain of anything from just one video. Can you request to see more videos in different settings and lighting conditions?

ETA, I do think the shape is really nice- great l:w ratio

It looks darker than what you are looking for.

Have you tired brilliance.com? An N color or so might be what you are looking for.

I totally get what you mean! I was hoping the reflection of the tongs were adding to that a bit. Its really hard to tell from this one video, unfortunately its like getting blood out of a stone trying to get more videos as its a small UK jeweller who rarely get asked for anything other than a white engagement diamond and their supplier is in India so it just adds loads of faff.

As much as this seems to be darker than I was going for, lots of the other options are too light!

I will have a look! So far I haven't found anything worth ordering from the US to UK though price-wise once I factor in custom taxes.

This is sort of another option, it seems like a nice colour, again maybe a little darker than the reference photo but still a pretty colour. It is almost twice the price though so quite a big difference.

Or the jeweller sent this through as another option. Initially I thought it was too light and a shade or two darker would be perfect, but I'm not sure they have anything else. GIA report is for this one.

Can you just let us know the color clarity, etc.?
Or post the GIA report number please

I think the issue is that you don’t want a yellow that is designated as “fancy”

I too love the super pale yellows and I think the color range you want is S-T, U-V

Here is my S-T, it’s on old cut so performance is quite different but hope that helps

Ok weird none of my images are attaching - check out this thread

Got it.... it's possible the S-T color will look like the diamond in the ring,m in your first post. But it's a bit of a gamble trying to figure out how it will look once set.
IN terms of videos, etc....
Comparing a cell phone video to a 360 video is truly useless......the same stone videoed will look totally different in a phone video and 360....

Yeah I totally get you.
I know it’s hard just off the 360 videos but for example this one (https://vv360.in/Vision360.html?d=H245-108A) do you think this would likely be whiter in real life and not have enough colour? It’s hard for me to have a frame of reference as I’m finding it impossible to see low grades in person.

Ultimately it’s not the end of the world, its not a huge diamond so I’m not paying mega money but it’s just a gamble because I’m having to order online.

For example this stone ^ and the one from the first post are coming in at £1300 including set in a starburst halo and so far the only deal I’ve found who can source me something in person had priced a 1.01 at £3800 without setting!

S-T is going to have a range, so some are going to appear more saturated than others. An oval is generally going to "show" the color a bit more than an old cut like mine as well, so take it with a grain of salt

The very first looks too saturated but one vid is insufficient to judge.

The stone you linked in the 360 looks like it has some green in it, but it could be the grey background making it hard to perceive the color. The bowtie is going to be prominent I bet though.

T STAR LIMITED on Instagram: "SALE. 1.01ct GIA Certified Natutal Light Yellow (s to t range) VS2 Clarity Oval Shape Diamond For SALE. Measurements: 6.91mm by 5.03mm by 3.50mm Stock id: st2752a2 PRICE: 1350$ US dollar + shipping . . #diamond#diamon

^ I like this one more, but it has a very different style of cut...more "crushed ice" like the first - but makes the color more even. I think it is pretty

Will you be viewing these before they are set? That is my recommendation...
It's not a gamble to order online if there is a reasonable return policy!

Also when you post stones, plz post specs (weight, color grade, etc.) so it is easier to evaluate.
