Hi everyone,
For my BM gifts I am giving them their jewelry to wear during the wedding. I want to put them in cute gift bags or pouches, but everything I see needs to be ordered in packs of 10-50. I only need 4 and don''t want to spend that much money, any ideas? I want to do something really cute, but I don''t want to spend more than $15 on all of them including shipping and it has to include the inner pouch and the outer bag if that makes any sense.

Any ideas, help!

What color is your wedding...what is the common thread of why they are your bridesmaids...what is the jewelry piece( size)...and wow...priority mail will be at least 3.50...we have already blown past your budget.

Give us more details.

the wedding colors are gold, black, and ivory, so that shouldn''t be too hard to match the wedding. The jewelry is a pearl necklace and bracelet with gold links in between each pearl.

Thanks for your help!

Have you tried going to Michael''s or Joann''s to see what they have? Might work out better since you don''t need to buy in bulk? Or maybe you could even buy some bags from a local jewelry store.. Or what about going to a party store or some other craft store?

A craft store is probably a good idea. I haven''t tried yet, but I definitely should! I think that might be a great place to start.

You could make the pouches, they aren't that hard and very fast if you having a sewing machine. You can make square or round ones. Claire's (in the mall) if you have one or any other youth jewelry store will often have cheap pouches and bags.

Have you tried ebay?

I am still working on thoughts for you...but here are two ideas...
(1) I was at Hallmark Card Store and they offer potpourri that is little plastic bead shape things. They are in all different colors. They have one that is soooo good I think it is a vanilla-it also have shades of ivory and little opalescent pearls and glittery sequins in it.

You buy it buy the scoop...I think it is $2.69 for an amount like a 1/4 cup. Well, what you do with this stuff is put it in the little sachet bags (you can buy these seperate) they already have made up. They are little pouches that have a drawstring closure usually trimmed in something pretty like seed pearls or sequins or glass beads. They are delicate voile type material. Different sizes range from $1.25 to 3.99. These are already created for you...you could put a dab of the potpouri in the pouch too. It would make the jewelry smell really good. (As long as you didn't buy REAL pearls, I think it may be ok.) They have ivory ones with lace...and ivory ones trimmed in black lace...all to go with your color scheme. I think these little pouches are also sold at the dollar stores...Dollar Tree...Dealz...etc-you would find them there for only a dollar. You can find them also around gift wrapping supplies in most of your stores. You could put the pouch in a little box you have painted or attached a thankyou tag on. While at Michaels look at their mailer section. There is a collapsed oval type package that may work for uniqueness. Put the voile pouch inside a cheap box then inside this oval shaped mailer. If you bought everything at Michaels you may be able to use that coupon thing they offer. 50 % off and sometimes they have one 25% off a $20 dollar purchase.

(2) Oh I just remembered...I used a wrapping paper that is shades of ivory and beiges...it is a photo of pearls-piles and piles of pearls. Rich opulent looking pearls. You can find this paper at Hallmark. It is used for bridal gifts. It would be appropriate for this. You could shallac it on cheap jewelry sized white boxes...get a little black lace at Michaels and some seed pearls and make a really expensive looking trinket box to use instead of the first idea. I have tons of jewelry boxes that my purchases came in...You can get a good supply of these boxes at the dollar store...too. This way they will have the jewelry and a keepsake gift box. Get a little bit of black velvet or felt and line the bottom of the box...oh la la. (At Michaels they offer craft paper....79 cents a page...in the scrap booking area...there are papers that are also photos of pearls. Oh...one more idea...they have adorable little trinket things in the scrap book section. Bridal themed adorable things. Four to a package about $2.99. Use them as your jewelry box toppers-one per box or get them to dangle from the potpourri pouch on idea number 1.)

Ok Whew...these are as cheap as my brain can come up with. Honey... I still think your postage is going to put you over your $15 budget. So I am concerned about that for you.

Hey...if you are mailing them...they will be opened seperately...you box shapes don't have to match. I bet you already have some you can use!

I'm thinking of Asian styled pouches..? Do you have a Pier One or a Cost Plus World Market? They have tons of stuff like that. Oh! Do you have a Container Store near you? They have various gift wrapping options that are quite unique. For example, they have this one where you buy a kit that comes with a gorgeous silk scarf. You put the gift in a box, then the kit shows you how to wrap the box using the silk scarf. They look lovely and you can use the scarf afterwards...just a thought!

Or something like this:

Or this? They come in "Champagne" which would match your gold motif:

Hey Surfgirl...do you think she meant $15 including shipping per EACH? I read it as $15 including shipping for ALL. As in divide $15 by 4 and include shipping.

What do you think?

DKS, Which one are you talking about?

And WOW! Was that the record for shortest post by DKS ever EVER?!?

Which one...one did you mean?

And for the record...I think I posted the word "Spoon" as my shortest post. May also have posted a smiley icon...not sure about that though. Glad you always find the lengths of my posts humorous! You don''t even have to read them to giggle!

What I meant was I posted several links so I''m not sure which one you''re referring to.

And yes, I just see your name and I smile. But in a GOOD way!

Surfgirl...I am not referring specificially to any of your ideas...

I am clumb-silly attempting to point out her agenda here was to find a gift wrap idea that was cheap. She has 4 gifts to give. She has a budget of $15.00 total on all four of the gifts including shipping. So I thought she was requesting an ecomonomical but creative solution to wrap and then house the gift safely as it is shipped to the recipient. Which pretty much gives her a total of $3.75 for each gift to cover the wrap idea, the shipping package and the cost of shipping.

Uggg. I had to write this much to explaiin my thought. I can''t shorten the thought. Ugggghhh.

I was asking you if you also interpret that to be her agenda.

I did look around on there and I was able to find some cute organza pouches that very cheap. I could get some of those and then find gift bags at target or something. That could definitely work.

These are great ideas!!! I should definitely check out michaels, it sounds like they have a lot of options for me.

BTW, the shipping prices were if I ordered materials. I''m not planning on mailing them out to the BM''s. Sorry for the confushion. It should definitely be doable then.

Sorry for confusing everyone. I only have to pay shipping costs if I order something online or something. Otherwise I can just give them to the girls. So it''s $15 for all of the materials and this includes shipping...if I order something online.

Oooohhhh...you didn''t confuse EVERYone just me!! I was trying hard to squeeze something in a $3.00 presentation...and then thought you had to ship the thing to the girls. ~Thats why I was so hung up on the postage part!!

What a knucklehead I am!!

Don''t know if you have a Ross Dress for less...check out housewares (glass cystal isle and storage isle they have fabric wrapped boxes for about $4)....and wallet area (jewelry makeup pouches).
