Gift for FMIL?

I'd like to start early on a really special gift for my FMIL to be presented at our wedding. She's really taken me in as her own and I have grown to love her so much. She's help me through daily struggles, been a source of comfort and encouragement, reality checks and straight/honest advice when I've been wrong. She's helping with the wedding, is thoughtful 99.9999% of the time (hey she IS still human hehe).

In short, she's the mom that I have really needed and I want to show her how happy I am to get to be her daughter in law. So now I'm on a quest to find the perfect gift for her. She wears a ring on her left hand (though she's no longer married) but doesn't have a RHR. I thought about a "mother's ring" of sorts that incorporated her IL and natural children (her son, me, her daughter and daughter's husband). I even posted about it over on the CS forum for feedback, but I don't know if it'd be too weird or not. Then I thought about something that incorporated FI's and my birthstones (pearl and aquamarine) but then I'd feel like I was leaving SIL/BIL out, even though I want to pay for all of it even if we were to make it w/all four.

If this idea is too strange, please tell me. LOL Annnnd maybe suggest another idea? I want it to be something meaningful that will last. Other than that, I'm wide open. Obviously I'm drawn to jewelry.

ETA: I just talked to my FI and he told me that FBIL/FSIL's birthstones are the same as mine. We're aquamarine and FI's ruby. So I was thinking of a ruby center stone w/aquamarine halo. If she doesn't like it, I'd have no problems wearing it myself.

Will do! The wedding is in 5 months. Plenty of time to build a ring, I hope!

another option could be to make a pendant with all four of your birthstones?

Hmmm maybe a journey pendant with the 3 aquas then the ruby at the end since FI's the youngest? I like that idea! Now I just need to find someone that will make it!

You could do aqua, ruby, aqua, FMIL stone, aqua to give it a little more "balance"? Make it more of a family project rather than a mother's project?

Hmm FMIL's stone looks to be opal. I think I'd rather stay away from them though. I'm REALLY drawn to this...

Tammy this is such a sweet idea. Not strange at all. I ordered a key pendant with fiance and my first initial from JKT that I gave to both our mothers and I have one as well.
