For those who gave gifts to their parents at the rehearsal dinner (or reception or other), what did you give?

I want to get something small and engraved with our wedding date to each of his parents, and will try to get him to do the same for mine. For his mom I think it''ll be a necklace/bracelet charm, for his dad a bolo tie cuz he actually wears those. I''m suggesting a necklace charm for my mom and a money clip for my dad. We''ll see what our financial situation looks like next month before we make any purchases though.

We were planning on giving our moms matching rings (with just the stone changed for each). They will probably cost us $150-200 apiece from what we''ve seen at the store.

For the dads, we haven''t figured out what to get. It needs to be useful, otherwise it will just sit in a box somewhere. I was thinking about a rifle or a shotgun for each, but my dad''s got enough guns and her dad only uses his .22 for vermin. I''m sure we''ll think of something that will be memorable.

I''m actually getting my Dad an embroidered hanky with sweet stuff on it, my Dad is a sap and loves that kind of stuff, my mom will probably get a necklace, as will his mom. I hadn''t really thought about it, to be honest.

i think we may do monogrammed cufflinks for the dad and pearl earrings for the mom.

I did a poem for my parents about our life. It was a beautiful poem and everyone cried, including me!! I practiced so many times not crying but I lost it. I will see if I can''t find the actual poem and post it.

For my wonderful, single Mom, I was thinking a small diamond pendant. Maybe a .30ct pear in white gold. For my Dad, who has everything he wants, I have no clue. Joey's parents will be easier...they're pretty vocal about what they want for birthdays and christmas, so they should be no problem.

For our mom's we are getting them a wedding photo frame/album with our names and wedding date engraved on the front. Once we get our pictures we will give each of them a picture to put in the front.

For the dads, that's a toughy. His dad likes to drink beer so I was thinking of getting a beer mug and have it engraved. My dad, haven't a clue....I may do the photo album for them as well (he's re-married) and something else.
