We''re having 18 guests at our DW in Maui and our ceremony will be on a lawn facing the ocean. We''ll have 20 chairs.

How would you set up the ceremony site? Sorry, I''m too lame to set up a poll but here are some ideas. Please pardon the rough diagrams. I''m totally open to other ideas. And if you have pics to show me, that would be much appreciated!

(1) five chairs on each side, two rows (using 20 chairs) (is this too wide and too shallow?!)

(2) four chairs on each side, three rows (using 20 chairs) (does this uneven set up look weird?)

(3) three chairs on each side, three rows (using 18 chairs) (are the rows too narrow?)

i would do the first one - you can even angle them a bit.

i had 70 people but here is a pic of mine....make sure that you put space in between each chair - i didnt think of that but a friend did - it made a huge difference for both guest comfort and spreading out the area a bit.

I prefer option #1 by far! I wouldn't want to be one of the guests seated in the 3rd row of option 2 and I think that the rows are too narrow in option 3.

Here's a pic of a beach wedding with 2 rows. Try to imagine it with 5 chairs on each side.

And BTW, WOW - I can't believe how close you are to the big day! You must be so excited!!!!

that pic is exactly what i was thinking with the angles :)

I would go with #1. 5 chairs will allow families to sit together, but it won''t be too wide. Plus, I think your guests will appreciate being able to sit close to you!

Thanks for the comments and/or pics, ladies!

I''m glad you dropped by! I can''t believe the big day''s almost here! Inbetween bouts of anxiety, I''m starting to feel excited

Hey, Panda! The photo Inanna posted looks more than 9 chairs in each of the rows to me. You could do something like a V with only one row so that everyone gets a front row seat. Good news, though, is that with only 18, everyone is going to get a great seat regardless.
