Howdy all,
Last year some of you may remember I finally got my parti-sapphire set in a beautiful ring (thread is here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-parti-sapphire-ring.178620/) but I have since fallen out of love with the setting.
I love the idea of it but just not the sapphire sidestones It seems no matter how much I clean it they look dull and grimy compared to the sparkling centre stone. It's got the the point where now I find myself wearing it less and less...
Attached is a pic of the stone unset so you can see more accurately the beautiful teal blue/green it is. I'm considering resetting it into a rose-gold setting instead. Not only can I remove the grimy sidestones but I'm convinced it bring out the full potential of the centre stone.
My idea would be to use some small emerald cut "unmentionables" I already have as horizontal sidestones (see other pics as inspiration) I would probably put in a slim bezal again but I like the minimal flat sidestones that would be clear and smooth this time. This stone is hugely sentimental to me and I want to wear it again. Problem is I wear this as my ering and my wedding band is yellow gold (as it all my other jewellery) so would this look totally awful together? Should I just reset this in a different yellow gold style to match my wedding set OR set it in rose gold to make this green stone pop?
What do you all think?
