I need to buy new sheets for the bed. I found a hole in one of our favorite Eddie Bauer Home fitted sheets yesterday, we got these shortly after we got married. I loved them because they were high thread count and high quality. I was about to order more online but they aren''t making sheets anymore.

We did buy high thread count sheets from target once but they got *fuzzy* and rough feeling very fast. ugh! Anyone have any recs?

try www.overstock.com they have soo many different sheets and thread counts available. excellent prices too!

overstock!!!!!! mmmm.

Overstock is a good recommendation. I''ve also ordered a lot of high thread count sheets and nice bedding from Smarbargains.com and they always have sales.

Does Overstock.com sell well-known name brands or is it all generic? Can you basically assume that any Egyptian cotton 400 tc sheats you buy there will be excellent quality? or is it a bit of a chance like everything else?

i don't know if they sell 'brand names' for sheets (i don't recall the packaging or anything), but everything i have bought has been great quality from them so far in terms of sheets, i think we have a pair of 400 and one of 600 regular sateen and both are very soft, one is more sateeny smooth than the other which turned more cottony soft after washing..i just love the pricing and the fact that i can have 3-4 pairs of sheets for the same price as 1-2 from a local store. smartbargains is another great site for selection.

restoration hardware makes really soft sheets. they are fab but pricey. also BB&B sells these Pure Beech sateen sheets that are wonderful too.

do you have a TJ Max and more close to where you live? I buy most of my sheets there- they are $200 sets for $59.00 and they have all name brands with great thread count. Otherwise sometime department stores also have great sales on their bedding.

Overstock...and you can read the reviews on the sheets from the real customers! I have 2 fantastic sets from them, and I don''t even use my old pretty sheets anymore!

I looked at TJ Maxx. They had hotel brand sheets 500 thead count, and a few others. I might start there. I read on consumerreports.com that anything over 400 thread count is bunk, that there is no regulation. One brand that claimed 1000+ thread count actually had 400, they were counting the fibers of the thread or something.
Very interesting... I never knew that!
