What did everyone give/get?

DH bought his groomsmen the flip-flops they were to wear with their tuxes...they were all very surprised, but it worked out really well and looks awesome in the pics!!!

I went to Things Remembered and got them engraved keychains that had a clock on them. The picture below is not the one I got, but it''s the same idea. I think they discontinued the particular one I bought.

My fiance wanted to give his groomsmen golf bags, but then his friend did that at his wedding last month! So now he''s looking for new ideas too...

This is supposed to be FI''s job but it doesn''t seem to be getting done. I know he wants to get them different gifts which might just get confusing. Right now it is just extra stress for me

Thanks for the ideas Amy and FG. Anyone else?

When my uncle got married 10 years ago, he gave all his groomsmen a personalized stein & a pair of Notre Dame boxers. It was pretty funny, cause they all (12 of them!) wore the boxers at the wedding & at one point dropped their pants for a picture

. It''s in their wedding album & it''s definitely one of the best pictures in the whole thing. The steins were also pretty cool - although I''m not really a HUGE fan of personalized merchandise in general.

For my friend''s wedding this year, I suggested to my friend that her fiance get his groomsmen a pint glass & a gift certificate to their favorite brewery that we also go to. All of them get together at random intervals for "guys night" and the gift certificates would give them a good reason to go one night (as if they needed one).

I''ve also heard of people getting nice bottles of liquor. Geez, I''m starting to sound like an alcoholic here

.

Anyway, if your fi wants to get them different gifts, then I think they need to be specific to the person. So if one guy is really into a certain sports team, maybe he gets him a sweatshirt or a hat or tickets (if he''s into spending tons of money). I don''t think it''s something you could pick out for him, unless you also know the guys as well as he does.

Give him a little kick in the rear-end!

gift certificates are a great idea, Danielle! And the golf bag thing would have been neat too.

There is always the standard bar set, beer glass set, whiskey flask, etc.

When I was in weddings in the past, I received a beer stein, a flashlight, and a bottle of homemade wine.

I''m thinking about getting my GM each a set of Craftsman tools (nothing fancy, maybe $40). I figured that''s something that they could each use and I know that it will last forever (considering each tool is warranted forever). Even if they just keep it in their cars for insurance, that will be fine with me.

we're giving them monogrammed locket cufflinks.

eta: all of the GM actually are the type to wear and enjoy them agian. so we think it's a perfect fit, and nice for pictures

We are doing a digital camara to the GM.

DH gave Tiffany money clips with initials engraved. When he was gm 2x before, he got zippo lighter (engraved) and cufflinks.

We gave each groomsman a set of four pilsner glasses etched with their initials. They loved them and we liked them so much, we bought a set for my husband.

here''s a picture! :)

I think the gift certificates are a wonderful idea! I''m pretty big on useful gifts. I also like gifts related to interests. For example, we have some friends who got married three years ago. All the GMs were either Syracuse grads or fans. Syracuse had won the NCAA Final Four that year, so the groom got them all mini championship banners. They really dug those.

I think the typical monogrammed flasks, pocket watches and money clips are nice, but not very useful for most people (at least the ones I know). If you''re going the traditional route, I would suggest mugs or glasses (people use them more than flasks) or actually wristwatches instead of pocket.

We''re getting them both Best Buy gift cards. Useful and much appreciated.

Fi has been a groomsman a few times... um. Once he got a nice silver antique pocket watch (his sister was the bride), once a flask with his favorite football team's logo that was engraved, and once a nice everday watch dont recall the brand but it was either fossil or swiss army.

ETA: Oh yeah. Once he got a visa giftcertificate in a card that said, "enjoy a night out on us." That was really great.

We only have one groomsman and he''s getting a crystal shot glass set. Knowing Brennan, it WILL get used!!

If your groomsmen are baseball fans, how about personalized baseball bats?
