Many people are not familiar with Chatham alexandrite and probably don't realize how much it would cost to replicate this ring, especially in a platinum Stuller setting.
Here's what I would do if I was listing it:
-Spend some time getting really clear photos in different types of lighting. I think alexandrite is really tricky to photograph!
-if you could find a link to the Stuller setting (or similar) it would help people understand the value of a platinum Stuller setting.
-if possible link to a similar 6mm Chatham alexandrite for cost comparison and I would include some general info about Chatham alexandrite vs. 'real' alexandrite. Or a link to another ring, like this:
Alexandrite Ring
Emerald by day. Ruby by night. Alexandrites are a rare variety of the mineral chrysoberyl that changes color from bluish-green in daylight to purplish-red in incandescent light. Chatham is thrilled to make this rare gem available for people who have always wanted one at a more affordable price...www.chatham.com
Just my 2 cents---I think Alexandrite is an under appreciated gemstone! It's hard to find and it will probably take you a little longer to find the right buyer, so be patient.
I’m not in the market but I just had to stop to say what a gorgeous ring this is! Both the center stone and the setting. Just beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous. I want an Alexandrite so much - but I am bling banned ATM
@pearaffair: I know I'm preaching to the choir, because you are already planning on taking more pics, but I bet if you had photos showing the two colorways at their best, it would sell in a heartbeat. After all, showing awesome colorways is one of the reasons that someone would choose a Chatham alex over a real one (that and of course, cost). Good luck!
