A really gorgeous genuine Victorian diamond brooch with a swallow bearing a heart, flying through a crescent. Generally these would have been either a wedding day or engagement brooch or a sweetheart brooch from someone who was away from home like in the armed services, as the swallow represents loyalty and returning home to a loved one....

The crescent is set with old cut diamonds and the body of the swallow with Antique rose cut diamonds, the bird has small ruby eyes. Really lovely piece IRL, my camera seems to get confused by all the diamonds and doesn't want to take pics in focus, but it's a special piece!!!

The back has a removable screw, allowing for attachment. The swallow is approx 3cms wing tip to wing tip the crescent is approx 2.50cms (25mms) across and 25mms up and downways. It's a nice medium sized crescent and swallow. Total weight approx. 7.9g.

No stones are missing and it's in good condition for it's age, it would make a stunning diamond necklace/pendant conversion, which is what I'd plan to do but never got around to doing...

Price is $1100US, I've already had dealers contact me on IG about it they cut off the pin part add a chain and ask double that price.

Shipping is $25US registered trackable and around $100 fully insured. My direct email is at the bottom of the LT listing;

Oh, I love this - is it silver on gold?

Sorry I should have put it in the description - it's silver over the top of yellow gold, generally brooches like this from the Victorian era were silver to hold the diamonds and then the base under the silver is 9K, 10K or sometimes 14K yellow gold. It's a really pretty piece nicer IRL than my pics!!!

Good gracious, this is stunning.
