1.14 cts pave G-H VS2-SI1
Platinum setting
The setting was finally finished and my stone set. The setting was cast in platinum, with split claw prongs, and 1.15 cts of pave. The setting was a combination of the Tiffany Etoile band, with the Lucida head. (both on Tiffany''s web site) The band is approx 8 mm wide. The ring is nice and heavy with all that platinum. The ring size is 5. The diamond is a 2.67 round with avg 9.04 mm wide. EGL Israel F, SI1.. Appraised with a colorimeter as a G color.. Clarity was appraised as SI2 (totally eye clean). Paid $20K cash for the stone, and $5K cash for the setting. This was a 10 year anniversary upgrade! Sent her 10 doz roses, then gave her the ring that night at a romantic place in Dallas. I''m so in love, and it''s only getting better!!
I bought this stone and another 2.49 round from Howard Goodman. (Howard also sells jewelry on Ebay) He brought in a handful of stones I found on Pricescope, and a handful from the local LA Diamond district that had similar specs. I flew in to see him and spent the entire day looking at all the diamonds side by side. I picked the stone, and he gladly beat the best Pricescope price for the stone I wanted. He gives a 14 day return policy, with full upgrade. So easy to work with, no pressure and his family has been in the diamond business since 1946. The setting was done locally by DFW Diamonds. Amy Clarke is the best in Dallas working with platinum and melee settings.
