Got my ring, proposing in a week... Pics attached!! :)

So after having read the posts on this site for about two months, doing various other types of web research and talking to all my guy friends that are engaged or married I finally decided on a stone.

My girlfriend loves the cushion cut so that''s the route I took. I was dealing with a budget but I''m happy with my choice - the specs are as follows:

It''s GIA certified, and the dealer from whom I bought it from couldn''t have been nicer, more helpful or patient. I was very comfortable with him, and I''m sure she''ll love it.

The setting is Platinum Tapered Cathedral.

Just looking to bounce it off you guys and see what your thoughts are.

I know a lot of people say it on here often, but in all honesty, thanks to all who have posted and given of their time to share their thoughts - it''s been helpful to say the least! Pics are below, any feedback would be great

Thanks for all the kind words guys. It''s funny, I was never into diamonds but now I feel I could sit down any talk to people about them until I''m blue in the face.

I think she''s going to be shocked. We''ve been talking about it since last summer and I orginally told her the "big question" would come at the end of ''05 or begining of ''06. I really thought that too until I looked for 3 damn months to find this one, lol. SO, I told her $$ was tight (thankfully it really isn''t too bad though) and that it would be more like May - next Saturday is the day though.

Going to chat with the parentals this week, so all should be okay.

GET THIS, one of her girlfriends has been going out with a guy for 3 months and BOOM on V-tines Day the guy proposes! Talk about making me look bad, lol.

Anyways, enought babbling. Thanks again for all the feedback, and hopefully I''m post some more tonight!
