Hi everyone.

Sigh. I never knew jewelery could be so complicated.

Well remember how my Tacori wedding band was too small and I had it cut off in the ER in December? well I FINALLY got them back today. They made the e-ring larger and put my new 1.52 ct stone in and I LOVE it. Instead of recasting the damaged wedding ring I had them fix it and I knew in my heart I should have just paid out the wazoo to get it remade but I chose to save some $$$ and have them fix it.

I am SO disappointed! The ring is not perfectlt round and the milgrain is a mess. I know in my heart I CANNOT live with it forever like this and I think I have to pay Tacori to recast it. I hope they can do it w/o me sending my e-ring back. This has been a complete nightmare for me. I hope that my marriage fares better than its symbols have! Just wanted to share, I was so excited to finally have this nightmare over and it just never ends. I have been crying all night.

Oh that''s so depressing! Could an engraver or jeweler or someone like that fix your wedding band? Which Tacori rings do you have?

Glad to here that at least your e-ring looks excellent!!

I completely understand how upsetting this is.

How bad is the w-ring? Can it be put back into shape and the milgraining redone by someone, or is it too far gone? Were they (Tacori) up front with you as to what you could expect, or did they tell you it would be no problem and look like new?

I''m sorry this happened. It can be very devastating, especially if you have to choke out the money to get a new one. I hope everything gets resolved quickly...

hi everyone!

what a mess this all is! well, Tacori DID tell my jeweler that if they just fixed the ring that it would look like nothing had happened so my jeweler encouraged me to go that route instead of recasting to save money (I originally sized myself wrong and thats why it didnt fit so i accepted that I would have to pay something to either fix it or remake it).

I contacted my jeweler about it tonight and he said he will contact Tacori tomorrow. He said he DID notice the uneven parts and thought it was negligible (tacori sent the rings to him 1st to inspect and verify before sending to me). What upsets me too is WHY did my jeweler not say, hey, this is unacceptable, before sending them on to me? Did he think I would think that too? i walk around with my loupe in my purse so I am not one to not notice details. Even my fiance noticed and was disappointed (and he''s the type that wouldn''t notice if I dyed my hair from brown to blonde and chopped it 10 inches).

My jeweler thinks that I should not have to pay for the remake on top of what I just paid for the repairs since he can verify the poor job and was told it would be perfect w/o the need for a remake. So we will see tomorrow what Tacori says. sigh. as long as they are back by October 15th!!!!!!!!!

but overall i have been very impressed with tacori and my jeweler, this is just another hassle.

Buena Girl--
I had tacori make me a custom rosebud and matching band. Instead of the typical 2.5 mm width bands of the Rosebud e-ring and w-band I had them made a 4mm width each and also enlarged the side stones from the standard Rosebud 0.10 ct each to 0.33 ct each. i am so in love with the set and love it now more that I enlarged the center stone from 1.07 to 1.52-- its much more proportional.

I would definitely have an honest chat with your jeweler as to why he thought the uneven parts were negligible...and I think if Tacori should fix the uneven parts without any more payments on your part. My feeling is that they will support this. You deserve the very best!!!!!

is it just me or have a LOT of people on here had really bad experiences with getting rings made/fixed through tacori? You think they''d be better for the monster prices they charge! They make gorgeous rings.. but I can think of at least two other PSers who''ve had similar issues.

I''m sorry this is so awful for you you! I hope it all works out in the end.

What a MESS!

I would suggest you take a deep breath, get the ring as much to your satisfaction as possible, or if it''s too much of a wreck, have them work it out so you get a NEW, perfect ring in your size. As to how this bodes as a symbol of your marriage - don''t worry about it. My mother wore the same ring for 30 years, then the last 14 years of her life she wore different, beautiful antique wedding bands that she discovered in her travels - she was married to the same man for 44 years. I myself had to get a new band a month after my wedding, because of sizing - they couldn''t resize my ring without destroying the pattern. I wore that 2nd ring for 27 years, and this past anniversary got a gorgeous 1.25 ct platinum anniversary band which I wear on my left hand alone. My husband and I are very happy, and looking forward to another 25+ years - it''s the marriage, not the symbol, that''s important.

Good luck with both!

Gosh, I hope it all works out for you. Just hang in there and don''t cough up any more money! You shouldn''t have to pay twice when you''re only going to (eventually) end up with one decent product.

I''m sending positive ring vibes your way. And by the way, it is absolutely NOT an omen about your marriage! My husband and I had all sorts of stuff go wrong before we finally got it right with the rings.

First of all, if Tacori told you and your jeweler that your wedding ring would look like nothing ever happened to it, then you have every right to be upset!!

Secondly, believe me, like Daniela said, this is NOT an omen!! My fiance and I went through THREE diamonds, two settings, and two jewelers to finally get something that was acceptable. And the first thing that I thought of when all this happened was how this was going to be a terrible start to our lives together!! But before long, I learned that mostly everyone has a big bump in the road, whether it be with the e-ring or wedding band, or with the actual wedding itself!! I like to think that if my relationship was able to survive all the stress that happened with the e-ring, we can survive pretty much anything!!

Well, good luck with everything, and please be strong and stand up for yourself!! You deserve no less than that perfect ring you have been dreaming of!!

Keep us posted...

Is it just me or is this a similar Tacori horror story to ones in the past??? What is the deal?!

Thanks everyone for your support and positive ring vibes! haha

Yes, what is going on with Tacori? One thing I can say is that they did a fantastic job resizing my e-ring. They did so by polishing the inside and I can not at all tell anything was done. They also reset my new diamond and did a much better job than my jeweler did the first time. The new head and prongs look so much better. I would still recommend a tacori ring because their (original :) workmanship is good and I have been in love with this ring since college so I am thrilled to have it finally.

I just can't believe that they sent the ring back in that condition! They have been very accomodating to all our other requests but I originally asked for it to be recast and they quoted a price which was high but I was willing to pay since I was the one who originally ordered the wrong size, but they INSISTED that a remake was not necessary. My jeweler agrees that I should not have to pay more, or if I do, at least not what they quoted me the first time.

Tacori has limited hours so they are slow to respond so not only have I been agonizing for the past 2 months but now have to wait another weekend to see what they say.

I am glad this is not an omen! I have already filed this under "this could only happen to sarah". This Tacori e-ring is my 3rd setting and the diamond is my second and this is my 3rd jeweler and I have only been engaged since July! I am so thankful my FI is supportive as well as all you PScopers!!! i will let you know what they say.
