Hello, all. I don''t post very often but you are all so wonderful at coming up with ideas that I thought I''d see if anyone has suggestions for a gift idea. I am 24 years old and will be graduating from law school at the end of May. I would really like to get my parents a gift as they have been so supportive, both financially and emotionally, throughout all my years of schooling. I could never have made it this far without all of their love and support and I''d really like to get them something to show my appreciation, but I''m having a hard time thinking of ideas. I guess part of my problem is I feel like there is no way to repay them for everything they have done for me, so nothing I think of really seems like enough, if that makes sense. Regardless, I''d still like to try and find something that would be meaningful to give them for all the sacrifices they have made for me.

As a little bit of background, my dad is also a lawyer and my mom is a nurse. They don''t really like to travel, so a weekend getaway type of gift is probably out. They are more stay at home kind of people. I can spend around $200 for both of them. Any ideas? If you are a parent what have you received or would have liked to receive?

If I were a parent (or if I were buying for my parents-people who don''t like a lot of gifts) I would buy them a beautiful picture frame with a photo of me at graduation with them. And write them a heartfelt letter about how much their love and support has meant to you.

Parents love that mushy stuff.

You could also take them out to dinner or something too, but I think what would mean the most is just telling them how much they mean to you.

Wow. What a sweet daughter you are! My oldest child graduates from college next month, and I''d be shocked if he got us a gift. Actually, his best gift to us would be to go out and get his first job.

I always enjoy an evening dining as a family at a fine restaurant. Add a nice bottle of wine and a toast to your wonderful parents.

Congratulations to you on graduating from law school. That''s quite an achievement, and I''m sure your parents are very proud of you.

Wow, what a sweetie you are and a huge congrats to you for completing law school! Could you pay a chef to come to their house and make them a nice dinner or take them to dinner and thank them? I like Neatfreaks idea of the framed picture of you too. They raised a wonderful daughter!

I like neatfreak''s idea, especially the letter! Any parent would love to have that letter as a keepsake, I''m sure it would mean the world to them.

Thank you all for the thoughtful suggestions and for the kind words! I love the picture frame and letter idea. My parents are coming in the day before graduation so maybe I''ll take them out to dinner that night and give them those things before my other relatives arrive the next day and the craziness begins.

Skippy, I love the idea of paying for a chef! I''m definitely tucking that idea away.

Thanks everyone!
