Graining not shown??? VS2??? Stevie Wonder graded this diamond......

How in the world a stone like this got VS2.....There's been a lot of talk about "Clarity Grade Based on graining that is not shown" but I've never seen a colorless stone graded VS2 that looked like this....

"not shown"...if they did, then it would cause the entire clarity plot to be red dotted lines!

You know how we always advice people that they usually won't see inclusions with a VS2 stone? Now we have to add a pic and disclaimer "except this stone".

This made me pull out the report for my avatar diamond, which is a VS2. I do have to use a loupe to see any inclusions, and I still can't find them all. But it was weird because I had never counted the inculsions before, but on the plot it has 5 crystals, 5 naturals (one of which is indented), and 5 twinning wisps. Not shown are additional wisps & pinpoints. I just the the 5, 5, 5 was odd.

Welp, I took a gamble and it didn’t pay off.

Late last Friday, I got an Ebay offer on a cute 1 ct Pear Cut. I saw that the stone has surface graining, but as GIA graded it as a VS1, I thought it was worth a look…

I just got the stone today and…it’s milky. I know that the stone is a bit spready, but it reads like a Fancy White in real life. Has anyone else seen a VS1 stone like this one?
