I receive a citrine from my grandmother that my grandfather left me in his will. He was stationed in south africa during WWII.

I had it set at a local jewellers in white gold. It is 5.5 carats set with 2 baggetts each side making up 1ct total weight.

I am so pround of it and wanted to share. I will get better photos soon.

What a pretty ring. Being a family heirloom makes it that much more special. Enjoy it.

The photo does not do it justice. Everyone I see grabs my hand!

oh, and it is Portugese cut, but again you can't tell from the photo.

Please post clearer photos! I want to see this monster up close...Citrine/Topaz is my birthstone and I''ve never liked it...until now! That is a wonderful, classic, old school setting...love it. Wear it in good health and with wonderful memories of your grandfather. I''m sure he''d be tickled to see it on your finger and in such a wonderful setting

It''s a lovely ring! What a great family treasure.
I''ve heard that these days a lot of citrine is synthetic or heated ( I''m sure not all) anyway with the older pieces you get nice natural stones.

I have more photos, but I can't get them to work on here

That stone is gorgeous. It''s so clear! and I love the color. Most of the citrines I''ve ever seen were more of a dark brownish yellow and I never liked them. But seeing yours . . . all I can say is WOW!

Thank you, my mother has one also from My grandpa it is a 3 ct and darker, not as clear. The jeweler was excited to see this stone.

Love the new pics. It is gorgeous.

WOW!!!! That is my birthstone too, and I never liked it much. Now I am starting to like it more and more, and this definitely pushed me over to the "gold" side!
