green amethyst

Hi,
I am wondering if there are any tell tale things to look for in green amethyst to know if I got the real thing or not? Heres'' what happened. I bought a 10.42 prasiolite and just wanted to know what to look for in my 20x loupe. It really looks pretty to me from what I can see so far. Here is a link to the auction on ebay.

I just want to know if I should spend any moeny to mount this stone or not. I reallly like green amethyst.

'Real' praisolite is incredibly rare - to the extent that some people wonder if it exists at all.

The green amethyst on the market today is heat treated low grade normal amethyst. It will definitely be the real thing as it would cost more to produce a synthetic version.
