The only green gold I've seen was on Black Hill's rings. Does anyone have a green gold ring? And can post photo's of it? The more colored stones with green gold, the merrier, but I suspect this may be a needle in a haystack question...........please keep comments to showing green gold jewelry..........not the merits of green gold as it is not a commonly used metal. Thx......and of course, I have to put a green face here..... =)

I did do a broad search, but didn't come up with much......green goes with a lot of things besides gold! I read the link and there were two rings (both Chrysoberyl's). Some of the links show it as not that 'green'......other's are very green and I know that has to do with alloy amounts used. Just hoping someone here has experience with it or photo's............or maybe it's a leap into other things. I didn't know there was grey gold which I stumbled across while trying to find green gold........

I find green gold a bit on the "cold" side. I do not own any but have seen many pictures and a few in person. It isn't strongly green in person; by itself, one might mistake it as an off-coloured 14k yellow gold ring. Next to 14k YG, it stands out clearly as different and the green is more easily detected.

I was interested in green gold for a chrysoberyl I want to set....someday  I found that the selection of vendors willing to create rings in green gold was much slimmer than yellow gold. Therefore, before jumping into an expensive 18k green gold custom setting I purchased a slim 18k green gold wedding ring. While I really like it and wear it every day now, I found it was an unflattering match for my chrysoberyl.

I would take pictures of my ring but I am not sure it would help you much--my skin tone I would assume would be different, my pictures aren't color calibrated and are monitors don't match.

The best way I can describe the color of my 18k green gold ring is as similar to 14k yellow gold, but with a greenish cast.

Thank you Erin! This is helpful information and I may try to do the same thing....... and I agree about photo's so no problem on that.

Here's a professional image of an asscher cut chrysoberyl cut by Gene of precisiongem.com in a custom made setting by Whiteflash in green gold.

I have a green gold and silver ring that was made years ago by Julia kay Taylor. It was pretty but nothing I would do again. I actually lost the ring at the beach and haven't really thought about it since.

I also have a JKT silver and green gold ring. I love it. The green gold complements the pastel green prasiolite perfectly! I don't have really great pics, but here it is...

Digdeep--

I got my 18k green gold band at mastergoldcraft on etsy. They have quite a few choices.

Thanks for the photo's and resources--that was what I was looking for. Much appreciated!

Thank you Indylady for your post. And may I also extend a BIG thank-you for your comments in the 'thread that is now closed'. You were not the only one who saw the opportunity for giving people a better experience on this forum through dialogue, not rhetoric.......thank you! :appl:

That setting that TL posted is my favorite green gold setting ever.

Thank you, DigDeep! That means a lot to me. 8) It was a difficult thread to participate in, but I hope that it helped everyone look at this board from a perspective other than their own. I really do love this forum and those that contribute to it, but at times it felt difficult to post here. Even after having been on the boards for years, I found myself shying away from posting anything new I was considering or buying because of the atmosphere--and that was definitely disappointing. I hope that things will be a little more relaxed around here. I'm also glad to see this thread--its perfect timing, because I just purchased a W-X colored diamond that has a tendency towards green, and I may be setting it in green gold, so I am enjoying the inspiration pictures!

.....

LD, do you post on any other forums?

Thanks, TL.

Yikes! Now I'm going in new directions with green gold idea's.........very interesting!

Purple (or light pink) plays up green very well and I love those earrings.

Those boxes are so chic and, for lack of a better word, cool. I love them. Like a Mokume Gane style.
