Hello friends,

I've recently bought a natural-colored green rough diamond which is about 1ct; I tried to send it to a company to polish it but all the companies that I contacted refuse to accept it, a friend says It won't be green after polishing as the green skin is too thin.

Do you know any company or person who accepts to polish it?
How can I know if it will produce a green facet or not?

Also the rough has yellow-green fluorescence with medium intensity in the middle of the stone and faint at the outer shell (fluorescence zonation)
any comment on the fluorescence?

Thanks for your consideration,
Vahid

Are they giving you reason(s) as to why they are refusing?

Is your friend in the diamond industry?

No Kimberly paperwork most likely.
Lucky no one has reported it yet if its the US or UE if it was actually diamond in the first place.
Contacting cutters about cutting rough is a good way to get on the naughty list with Country and International law enforcement.

Hi, Thanks for the response

companies that are experienced enough said they don't cut for other parties.

Some companies that are not experienced with colored diamonds accept to cut it but they have no idea about green diamonds and the certification process; As I know greens should be reported to a lab before, during, and after the cutting process to get the natural-colored certificate.

Yeah, that friend is in the diamond industry but still not enough experience with greens.

Do you know any individual cutter who knows green diamonds?

Appreciate

Nice point you mentioned, Thanks a lot.
Although I didn't say that I haven't such a certificate.

So amazing to see people care about Kimberley P this much, many don't even care

Everyone should care about the Kimberly Process.
While it is not perfect it is the best protection the industry has available to make sure we are not getting conflict diamonds.
Anyone who is talking about rough diamonds and talks about not caring about the Kimberly Process sends up major red flags.

I DO agree with you but Kimberley P is not even close to perfect.
But diamonds free of blood matter.

Do you know any friends who could cut greens?

Unfortunately no. I was just asking for more background information to your post, to help understand it better.

I think the solution for you isn’t the type of typical member that frequents PriceScope forum. Friend of friend type connection is a bit public neck sticking out to do here, I’d imagine. Any trade member reaching out to help you themselves would be violating this forums rules.

If you’ve got all the correct law abiding paperwork - i can’t seem to imagine no diamond cutter you haven’t already contacted isn’t able to give you a lead. Nor your friends in the industry.

Then there’s something else going on, I imagine.
Reasons why the cute little octahedral didn’t get faceted well upstream before it trickled down to you - would be the first question?

I like the way way you look at the story, thanks.
Many friends I know who can cut it but I'm in white business not fancy colors so my connections and experience have nothing to do with cutting the hardest color of fancy diamonds; Green is the most tricky one.

anyway thanks for your time and assistance
