Green Sapphire ring

I snap a few shots in my car today and thought I would share it here. I was looking for a green sapphire for a while and finally found this one. It is slightly darker than ideal. Seems sapphire does not come with nice share of green? The setting is from leejewelry on eBay.

But yes sapphire's aren't known for green colors, so I bet that was an exhaustive search

Nice green for a Sapphire, most are more of an olive colour.

It's a beautiful stone especially for it's size. A member of this site, Aussiejamie, usually has a few good green sapphires on his site, but as with any gemstone they get increasingly rarer with size. His site name is Genuine Aussie Gems if anyone is inspired.

I should consult all experts here during my search . I was really into size when I did my search so I sacrifice a bit on color for the size.

I hope I didn't make you sad by mentioning Jamie's site. My daughter's birthstone is sapphire so I've been thinking of getting her a birthsone ring. I need to talk to her about color in the mean time I've been looking at sapphires.

they do not have anything in the size I like so it is ok.

Sapphire is my daughter's birthstone as well! The ring is one of my mothers day gifts, lol. I plan to collect sapphire rings and then gift her some of my collection once she is old enough. She is just 2

It was quite a journey. This one popped up at Tuscon gem show this year. I was not sure so I did not pull the trigger. Eventually I realized that I might not be able to find a better green sapphire in this size. So I track it down and it was on Hongkong show. I asked the vendor to bring it back to US. I have Jerry to recut the pavillion. And I'm happy with how it turned out .
