Hello all,
Well the story is..We met two years ago (thank you Match.com!). I'm 31 he is 32. It has been so outrageously, unbelievely perfect since the day we met. A few months ago we started seriously discussing rings. I was engaged a few years ago and was surprised with a 1 c Tiffany Lucida in yellow gold. The ring was perfect, the guy turned out not to be. I gave it back. Thought I wanted another Tiffany ring. We went shopping. The Lucida's in the store just didn't look the same, they seemed blah. I tried the solitaires. The knife edge seemed too 'pointy' and sharp on my finger. After soooo much shopping online, I finally decided on platinum Vatche 1530. Its a nice simple solitaire, somewhat similar to the Cartier 1895.

I would like a hearts and arrows round. So we have been all over this website and he is very well educated at this point. I am DYING with anticipation! He is such a doll and I keep warning him not to go overboard and get a bigger stone than we discussed, but I suspect he might. I can't stand it! I feel like we have won the relationship lottery and I can't wait to share it in a wedding with our family and friends

Hi there and welcome! :wavey:

I am another match.com success story! I've been dating my SO for a little over a year :) We were going to go with a T&Co ring as well (Novo) until i found this wonderful website :) It's great that your SO is so into getting you the perfect stone - some of us here have done the legwork or even picked and designed their own rings without much input from the men!

Welcome!!! What a great relationship it sounds like the two of you have, I'm glad you guys are both so involved with the whole ring process! What size range were you hoping he wouldn't go over? Any ideas for a wedding band yet?

Welcome! Seems like you are already pretty far along in this process... good for you!

I will add you to the list Ms. Sooie!

welcome!! :wavey: I love your lottery analogy. That's too cute how in love you are!

and dang, we're getting quite a bit of match.com couples up in hurr! If SO doesn't propose by the end of the year, I might have to give up on him, and make an account! :naughty: JK. But I keep telling one of my best guy friends to make an account..

Hi Sooie! Isn't this such a great website?!?! All soon to be engaged folks should haul ass over here, it's such a fun place to peruse and there is so much to learn and so many smart and funny people around.

Black sheep here - I met my SO on OKCupid. I know a lot of people poo-poo it, but it worked for us!

So glad you and your SO are so happy together and are ready to take the next step! There are so many great vendors around PS, it's hard to choose the perfect one! I can't wait to see what you get!

Welcome!! :wavey:

Love your choice of setting!!

My keyboard got water spilled on it, so now it is malfunctioning! Apologize if half typed messages came out!

I think under a carat. We both work with our hands, so I need something really practical. He can't even wear a band  It really would be dangerous for him. I think he needs a tattoo or mark on his forehead or to signal that he is taken! No really he is utterly trustworthy, but I guess it is a fair trade. I'm not taking his last name- he isn't wearing a ring. HA! (There is a woman in our area in the same profession as I who has the same last name as my SO. She has a HORRID reputation, and I fear that people would confuse us, as we would both be "Dr. X" if I take his name. Plus I really like my last name.... is that bad?

In Tiffany's I tried on a band with diamonds half way around. So simple, and online they look so ordinary, but in person, ahhhh delicate and lovely! Maybe that, maybe a plain ol band. We are kinda country folk

Not taking his last name isn't bad at all. More and more women are choosing to keep their maiden names. I will be keeping mine. I've developed a whole life to my name, and it's my identity. I wouldn't change my name for all the world's treasures. I might combine our last names, but haven't quite decided yet.

Do you guys like tattoo rings? Will you guys get him a band for nights out or whatnot, when he's not working?

Get your e-ring first, then go try on bands with the e-ring :) that way you can see what they will look like together.

Welcome!

Welcome! :wavey: I LOVE the setting you chose! I actually almost went with that one as well... so elegant!

I second what Madelise said...
