Guess what I got with my PS 10k gift....

Well, it took me weeks of decision making and then more weeks of planning and design, but I finally got my ''10k posts'' gift all squared away and it arrived at 10am this morning!! Thanks to Leonid and Irina ten thousand more times for being so generous and creating PS for us diamond-loving crazies.

Gosh, you guys have such creative guesses. Diamond cufflinks, wow! Greg would love 'em. And the dog collar? Well she IS a princess.

But no this is a gift for MOI of course.

I thought long and hard about it, and what I really wanted seemed so silly and foolish that it seemed ridiculous to even consider it. I mean diamonds are frivolous but this was taking the cake even in my opinion. I told Greg what I wanted and he said...why on earth would you want that? That seems like a waste.

I told my best female friend and she said, wow you are going to spend XYZ amount on that? Why not get something more useful!

She meant 'diamond useful' of course. Whatever that means. Aren't all diamonds useful?

I talked it over with aljdewey and said 'well I REALLY want *this*'. So true to form, my faithful little pal said...'Well it's YOUR gift, YOU wrote the 10k posts, so you get what YOU want. Screw everyone else.' Well maybe it was a bit more poetic. Well maybe not, knowing al.

So I said 'Yes you are right...by God I will have what I want!'. I planned to put my PS gift toward the cost of the project and pay whatever extra myself. So I got some quotes from three vendors. Signed Pieces, Wink and WhiteFlash. I really love working with WF, but wouldn't have minded using a new vendor this time around just to shake it up a bit. SP got back to me with a quote in less than a day! WF responded in 2 days. Wink was swamped and took a bit longer. He also had the most ctw for the same price. Yum! It was very tempting.

However in the end, WF seduced me back over to them with the thought of their ACA melee, their competitive pricing and also the fact that they have a benchman in house that I felt comfortable working with. Because what we were doing was going to be custom work! My fave.

I wanted to see the mold, which I did get to see. How cool! I had never seen a mold of my own item before...believe it or not, having seen everyone else's. I got to see the rough cast. Sweet. Then they placed the stones and AY CARUMBA it was swoonable.
