I''m engaged

My now-FI and I went on a mini-vacation in the early half of this week to my favourite place in the whole world. He proposed very simply after dinner at the lookout under the stars. Proposing on the trip was incredibly risky for him because he''d never been there before (so didn''t know where to do it!), but I couldn''t imagine a better proposal.

We got a bottle of champagne to celebrate. He fashioned me an enormous 2ct blue diamond (a bit blurry but you get the idea):

Then he made me a beautiful tension setting. This was all fashioned out of the foil that comes wrapped around the champagne cork

I promise I'll come back with SMTR pics when the REAL ER is finished, luckyeshe and vc10um. In the meantime FI and I have shot off emails to Lesley at BGD and Julian at Pearlmans- I can't wait! Like, I literally can't wait. How much are flights from Australia to the US? *goes off to Google vendors and the camping equipment she'll need to sit outside and wait*

To answer some of the questions/comments:

- Treefrog has the temp ring stats exactly right

- Unfortunately there isn't a real blue diamond in my future, lilyfoot. I wish! I'll take a regular white one though

- LilyKat, dcgator and Treefrog, it's time say "I told you so"!

- Yes, my FI is actually MacGyver, AustenNut. Just don't tell anyone, okay?

- Kitcha, the photo is of Point Lookout at North Stradbroke Island. It's about an hour from where I live and seriously my favourite place in the whole world. Come visit sometime!

My fiancé (I'm going to enjoy saying that!) is definitely a sweetheart and I'm really looking forward to being "his" forever.
