Hi everyone! Does anyone have any guesses as to the period or era of this ring? Also, does it look like a modern RB? It’s a half carat diamond set in an antique platinum filigree setting, and that’s basically all I know!CC0BE607-1E38-4850-9AFC-1456DA14BBBC.jpeg0FD43DFB-26FF-4486-8F9D-7B2E5F436E31.jpeg3FF0859C-7448-4465-BCEF-D8A1077B39AC.jpeg1570F57C-CDCD-4479-A4F2-1E6FBCA227C8.jpeg
Thank you for any insight! I was having a hard time taking good pictures of the detail, in sorry!

It's beautiful!
1920's-30's
I can't tell the cut of the stone, the photo is a bit blurry.

Ugh I know, I’m sorry. How do you take a clear picture of the stone on an iPhone? I tried so hard

Whats the back story?
It looks like a cast repro with a RB to me.
1970s and newer.

I understand. My phone can't zoom in to take good diamond shots either!
I'll take like 30 photos hoping one will turn out really clear.

How can you tell it’s cast? There’s not really a back story. I just bought it a while ago because I loved it. I don’t know much about it! I know I know, that’s bad.

overall look.
The top of the shank is not hand carved or die struck its very soft not crisp so its most likely cast.
The holes and openings are very rough and have flashing in the corners.
Its all one piece maybe 2 where if it was handmade it would be more parts.

I see what you’re talking about. That makes sense. Thank you for your input!

I’m sure you’re correct, and I see what you’re pointing out. I was told it was hand carved and that it was an antique, but I bought it because I just loved it. In the future I will definitely ask more questions, or post here first!

That’s what I thought! Which is what gave me pause about it being an antique.

I agree with Stracci2000. Early 1930s late 1920s. If you look at Pinterest, you can see similar styles with a square basket and cathedral arms. I think it’s an old cut diamond from that period, an early modern brilliant. I have a similar stone from the late 1930s with a large table, shallow crown, and splintery faceting.
