Guessing game: rose cut diamonds or paste, etc

My wonderfull fiance bought me a pendant as a bit of a pick me up and to celebrate Valentines ( we don't usually do gifts for this). It was a pendant that he had seen me looking at and sneakily bought it for me but won't give it to me before friday.

It has two pearls and what at least in the photos looks like rose cut diamonds. Did they do rose cut paste, glass before? It seems like it has been added too on two separate occasions.

What do you guys think? I know it's nothing special I just thought it was pretty and a bit different.

It is pretty and different, nice Valentine's Day gift! I can't say for sure about the stones, but if I had to guess I'd say they would be diamonds.

To me the piece almost looks like it had been an earring at one time? Perhaps the matching one was lost, so they converted one into a pendant?

That is exactly what I thought! Looks like they probably were converted to studs with the second pearl, which seems like a later addition, and then when one earring was lost the other was converted into a pendant.
Another thing is that it is supposed to be 14kt gold, but I would guess the white metal to be silver, I don't think white gold was available when the original piece was made.

Trying to imagine where these things are is nearly half of the fun!
