Haha, ok, I know y''all know I''m not normal, so this shouldn''t be too surprising.

In my dream, I was wearing a wedding dress (a very floaty one) while pushing a grocery cart around a supermarket with my mom. There were maybe about 20 things in the cart, and I had 3 things off to one side, away from the other stuff--a cake, a giant football-sized chocolate cake sandwich thing with cream in the middle, and what looked like some boxed wine? (Classy, I know!
31.gif
). So my mom and I are in the produce section of the grocery store when she sees the cake and the other two things sitting in the cart. She says, kind of annoyed, "What are THOSE doing there?" I said, "That''s a cake for the wedding!" So my mom says, "I can''t believe you. You can''t have a GROCERY STORE CAKE at your WEDDING!" I said, "Well, some cake is better than no cake, and we''re on a budget! Real wedding cakes are ridiculously expensive!" So my mom mutters and grumbles until finally I put the cake (and other stuff) back, and then I woke up.

I loved the visual of me walking around the grocery store in a floaty dress, and the fact that I was totally cool with picking up a cake from the supermarket.

I have a feeling this was inspired at least in part by J joking around with me last night. We were talking about some of the proposal ideas mentioned on the forum (and I told him about Delster and retsled getting engaged!
36.gif
), and he said that he thought the more personalized proposals were the best ones, even if they weren''t that fancy or complicated (to which I heartily agreed, of course). Then he said, "See, I know that you love music, so maybe a great proposal for me to do would be to put the ring inside a trombone and then play it for you and have the ring shoot out at you!" (He doesn''t play the trombone or any musical instrument, just so you know.) I was DYING with laughter, imagining it all going on with the trombone making that sad sort of "brrrrrrrrpt" noise, as my ring came shooting (or more likely, falling) out of the bell of the trombone (wrapped in bubble wrap of COURSE so nothing would happen to it if I didn''t catch it).

VERY silly. I loved it.

Haha! I love it! The weird wedding dreams are the best -- they never make ANY sense.

I told SO about Delster''s engagement too, and he approved!

Hehe, thanks! I thought it was pretty amusing too--I told it to some friends at lunch and they wanted to know what fun hallucinogens I''ve been enjoying lately.

OMG Gwen! I am convinced that we have a weird connection (probably because I am always wishing you lots of luck with your thesis when I am taking my moments in the morning and night to reflect). I LOVE how you were in the market in your gown! That''s absolutely fabulous!!

I had my first wedding related dream last night also! Although mine was not as fun as yours
7.gif
In mine I actually had cold feet on the big day! I was freaking out a bit and my mom was assuring me that it happens to everyone and to relax. Then when I got to my reception it was so weird because every place I looked there were Crate and Barrel boxes! BUT something good did come out of it...in my dream instead of a traditional engagement ring, I had an enternity band and another eternity band for my wedding band and I have to tell you I *heart* the combination! So much so that I plan to talk to SO tonight about possibly changing from a traditional ring to an eternity band!

Sorry to threadjack...I got so excited the we both had similar dreams

Awww, you are SUCH a sweetheart, I love that you are sending me such good vibes all the time!! And I think we do share some sort of a connection--I mean, seriously, after all these years we''ve been with our honeys, and last night we BOTH had our FIRST wedding dream?!

Too crazy (in a good way)!

No worries, it''s not a threadjack if you had one too!

That''s pretty strange about your reception being full of Crate & Barrel boxes. Do you shop there often? OH! Maybe it''s a sign that you guys will register there?
31.gif
I also love the eternity band engagement ring and wedding band look--SO lovely and delicate and beautiful! I hope your talk with your SO about possibly changing to that look goes ok--what will you do if he''s already in the process of buying you a traditional one, though? Didn''t you stumble across some research he''s done recently? It might be possible...and if so, I think that sounds like a rather nice problem to have, really...

No, we don''t really shop there so that''s why it was so strange. However, I am sure I could find some plates there with out much of a problem when it does come time to register. Maybe a few other items as well

I do agree that it would be a rather pleasant problem to have if he is already on the mark with the ring. I''m not picky. I just loved the look and thought it couldn''t hurt to tell him I''d be very open to taking this route. I''d rather he didn''t spend a lot if spending a little will make me just as happy in the end.

I think you are one of the sweetest people around, and I hope your SO fully realizes this. You just have the most patient, trusting, loving attitude, with your priorities all (in my opinion) in exactly the right place. I hope he realizes how fortunate he is to have you in his life.

I love wedding related dreams!!

That''s such a funny dream Gwen. My first WRD (Wedding Related Dream), this was before i got engaged, it was my wedding day and I didn''t have a dress. So my sister and I were running around town looking for a wedding dress. We''d go to department stores and I''d keep picking up non-wedding dress stuff, like a cool looking bikini, or an awesome brown dress, or something. Leena keeps saying to me, That''s NOT a wedding dress, as she has armfuls of tulle & lace in her possession. Can''t remember how the dream ends though... I''m going to pretend it was me in a gorgeous gown marrying my guy. :) Now if I can only find what kind of gown I like...

Hiya, jitterymoo! If you have any wedding-related dreams you''d like to share, please feel free!

Hahah, that sounds just like me! I don''t know if you''re like that in real life too, but I am *so* distractable when it comes to shopping! "Ok, so I''m looking for a white dr--ohhh, those shoes are so cute! And that bag, oh it''s divine! And will you look at those adorable jeans!"

hehe what a cute and funny dream!!!

I love wedding related dream stories. Anytime I have a wedding related dream, something usually always goes wrong except for one time I think.......

Gwen, I never worry about you. You are one woman that could get married in a gunny sack, in the parking lot of the local hardware store, with weeds for a bouquet, a donut for a wedding cake, and you would STILL have the most fabulous wedding and marriage. You have your priorities straight girl
36.gif

I love hearing all these wedding dreams. Theyre all so funny and off the wall. I had a really strange one the other night. So I was walking down the "aisle" with my boyfriend ( it was really the hallway of the house I grew up in). As soon as we got to the "alter" (the kitchen table) everyone left and went to the living room because there was something interesting on TV. The only person who stayed was my mom. She then got all excited and gave us fishing pole. Then I woke up. SO weird!! haha

LOL, thank you, purrfectpear, that means a lot coming from you! And it''s hilarious that you mention weeds for a bouquet because my whole life I''ve had this strange love of dandelions (always felt badly for them--no one else considers them flowers, but I do!), and my friends always joked that I''d have a wedding bouquet of dandelions one day.

LuvinMyLife86, hahah, ok that is TOTALLY stranger than my dream! I love that your mom gave you a fishing pole?! Awesome, in a totally bonkers kind of way, haha!

Ok but it was a while ago and I don''t remember much. lol!
Ive recently had 2 bad related dreams, they were pretty much the same dream (basically nothing goes right.)

First dream: It''s my wedding day in the dream and NOTHING is going right. my hair was a mess and I was in a huge hurry to get my makeup on and it looked HORRIBLE because I didn''t have enough time, I was so rushed. Something was wrong with the dress, I was so late getting to the venue....

Second Dream: Wedding day, something again was wrong with my dress. I can''t remember what. And I think the venue was a mess, my decorations were missing and the cake wasn''t there. Hardly anyone came that I invited, and I think I tripped and fell....lol
20.gif

The good dream: I remember waking up right after the dream (it was morning) and I was smiling
9.gif
because everything went perfectly and the ceremony was so extremely romantic and FF was saying the sweetest things in his vows. So much better than the others.

I think those dreams were just bringing my "concerns" for the future wedding forward and having to deal with them in my dreams. lol! I need more good wedding dreams lol

KTF: I think this is true, I do think our guys know how lucky they are. I know when mine forgets, I quickly remind him.
2.gif
By the way, your signature quote is one of my favourites! There really is no better feeling--it''s totally exhilarating.
5.gif

Dreamgirl: Haha, see, I can imagine me having freak-out dreams if it''s like a couple of weeks before the wedding and I''ve decided to have some semblance of a ''normal'' wedding that has lots of planning behind it (unlikely for me but y''never know), but I can''t imagine having those dreams already, before the planning''s even started! I''d be so worried about how stressed I''d be by the time of the actual wedding that I think I might opt for an elopement! I hope that you were able to laugh them off when you woke up, and that they didn''t stress you out or anything! I do love the good dream, though, and that you woke up smiling (so sweet!!!)--you need to have more like that.

Wedding dreams are awesome.

I had a dream once during the reception. It was an outdoor wedding and I had just finished eating food and getting ready for pictures. I started saying "damnit R tell those people to get out of the pool...this is my wedding!" And then I woke up LOL When I told my boyfriend his first response was "you would never eat food that was sitting outside" and my response to that was "you're absolutely right"
2.gif

I don't have as much wedding dreams as I do dreams with babies.

J's proposal idea is really funny and so sweet!

Hahaha, that''s great! I love that your BF''s initial reaction to the dream was that you wouldn''t have eaten the food, not that you had your reception at a pool or anything! And that''s cute that what he said about the food was right on. I love it when our guys say stuff like that, that shows how well they know us.

Uh oh, baby dreams?! Just you being a mom, or more complicated/sinister ones? I have a friend who is kind of obsessed with the idea of having a baby (even though she and her husband have decided to wait a couple of years before trying) and she used to have dreams where she''d steal babies from other people.
3.gif

I keep having proposal dreams where the ring is HIDEOUS!!! I had one last night where it was a yellow gold honker in the shape of a claddagh (we are not Irish) made out of diamonds and some turquoise in there-thankfully it was just a dream!
