So this morning I went to the shop where I bought my dress and veil for a special they were doing on jewelry and hair accessories. I went in a few weeks ago to pick up my petticoat and "grow it" and found some hair pins and hair combs I liked but couldn't tell if they'd match well with my dress. So this morning I put my entire wedding gear on from dress to jewelry etc....(by the way I LOVE my dress). My Mom and I fell in love with these hair pins and they had us sold. It was also a plus bc they could serve dual purpose of looking like a hair comb in front of my veil for the ceremony and then being scattered around the back of my hair for the reception when the veil comes off...we were ready to buy until they told us how much they were.....$350!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Mom and I were so shocked! I knew they wouldn't be cheap but I was expecting under $200. My Mom told me to go ahead a get them but I just can't spend that amount of money of hair pins.....so this is where ya'll come in...who knows of online stores that sell bridal hair pins that are a nice quality?? I'm attaching pics of the pins in my hair today....it's hard to see them but hopefully it will help. I need to find something and soon! My wedding is 11 weeks away....if I can't find any I'll buy a hair comb that is beautiful, but I really loved the dual roles to hair pins could play.

In doing a search just now I actually found the hair pins I tried on today...they''re $337 online...is this normal???

Gosh that is a lot of money..... but it depends on how much you love them. I would pay it if I fell in love with them

Found these online...if you buy 3 or more they are $13/pc so for six that would be $78. I think they have the same shape but no pearls. And they call these hair pins but they're really sticks....would this work??

or...this one that has pearls...I just wish I could see it in person!

ETA: These are $20/pc...still doable.

Hmmmmm, the DIYer in me is looking at those last couple of photos and thinking "how hard can they be to make?" You could get the wire at Michael's or another craft store, I'm sure, as well as all sorts of pins/clips. Get some crystal and pearl beads, twist the wire through them in whatever pattern you desire, and tada!

Probably not QUITE as easy as it looks, but still doable if you would like to save some money (and have something completely one of a kind).

ETA: The ones you tried on and love - are those actual diamonds or something to make them cost that much?

I''m not much of a crafty person and don''t know if I could make it look good but my Mom called one of her good friends and she offered to make some if I show her a picture...very nice of her...we''ll see.

It''s moments like these when I wish I was creative and crafty!

As for the ones I tried one this is the description the website I found them on: "clusters of rhinestones and oval Swarovski crystals frame a single cultured freshwater pearl"

Hi,

I special-ordered my necklace and earrings from SpringDream -- and she (Stephanie) was awesome to work with, and the jewelry was absolutely gorgeous! She does have a bunch of hairpin designs (Swarovski and pearls), but I''m sure she''d also be willing to make you something exactly as you want it -- and for less than $350!

Definitely worth checking out! http://www.springdream.com/index.php?cPath=29_34

Good luck!

I am sure the Swarovskis sparkled like mad but would you be happy with faux crystals? Or just not the ones with the Swarovski name? Seriously, I see spray-style hair pins in the Wilton section of Walmart for $12 and they look pretty! I have a feeling that since you had hoped they''d be around $200 that you aren''t looking for anything faux, right? Maybe you can go on Ebay and get a good deal?

Those were very pretty, btw!

$350 is quite pricey in my opinion!

Do you like any of these?

Ok, I know this isn''t exactly it, but at the bottom of the description it says that it can be made to order in different sizes. Maybe if you showed her the picture she could make it more like that?

Thank you for the great idea Robbie!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night I messaged the seller and attached the website of the hair pins I tried on and asked if they could make pins in a similar shape/style for me and here was there response!!

"Hello, yes I believe we can replicate these accurately....I know Erin and use some of the same suppliers. If you want to contact me and get me your direct e-mail, we can make you a sample and photograph it for you to preview, with pricing....I can''t send pictures thru the ebay forum. "

They also asked how many I would like and wedding date...so YAY! Thanks a million Robbie, you''re great!
