I am getting married at 5 or 5:30 p.m. and am getting ready to schedule hair and makeup for my mother, myself and my girls. Any ideas/thoughts on what time I should schedule? I will be getting it done at the salon in the hotel I will be staying in/getting married at, so I wont need to allow extra time for driving, etc. Any thoughts or past experiences or plans would be very much appreciated!

I am having 4 girls who will probably all have up-dos, my hair will most likely be down and my moms is short and will be down as well.

I know this sounds odd...but my salon INSISTED that I be there at 830 am w/all my girls. My ceremony is not until 4, reception at 6!!!! I need to be done by 1:30 though b/c photographer is coming...they like to schedual things wayyyyyyyyy in advance...the salon is only like 5 min from my house too!!!!

With that many people all getting their hair done at once, i would call and talk to the salon you are going to use. They may have a stylist available for everyone and so you would really only need an hour or two. If they can only give you one stylist to do everyones hair, it could take most of the day (think 1.5 hour for x 5.5 girls (your mom wont take long) = over 8 hours).

If you get married at 5, you might like an hour or so to get dressed, plus you should have a little extra time built in case you run long at the salon. I would be done at the salon by 3-330 at the latest. That way you have 1.5-2 hours to get dressed/run over at the salon/last minute things/RELAX! before the ceremony.

I had a 6:30pm ceremony, and only had a maid of honor. Believe it or not I was at the salon for hair and makeup around noon, and my maid of honor didn''t come until an hour or 2 later because she was flying in. With all the little things that happened, we actually ended up running a little late with stuff and really didn''t have time to sit back and relax before the ceremony. The salon was about 3 miles from where we had the ceremony. Some of the delays could have been avoided I suppose. But anyway, I like njc''s suggestion to call the salon and get their perspective, then decide on a time that will ensure you get everything done without stressing you out too much.
